Respect Raiga, God of the Monsters

Post by GodzillavsRayquaza »

The star of both its titular movie and God Raiga vs King Ohga, Raiga is a kaiju from an… interesting set of movies.

Timestamps for Raiga:
1:15, 13:25, 18:30, 44:20, 54:10, 1:03:20

23:00, 28:00, 45:48, 56:30

Smaller Raiga

The primary monster the first movie focuses on, this version of Raiga utilizes red electricity in its attacks. Raiga’s motivation is unclear, seemingly attacking just for the sake of causing destruction. It is possible that Raiga is intending to mark its territory as its larger counterpart does at the movie’s end, and the destruction it’s causing is to ensure this can be done. Raiga is estimated to be 60 meters long.

Power
Raiga’s primary ability is the controlling and usage of electricity, summoning storms and absorbing the resulting lightning to increase its power. It seems to be capable f doing so with ease, taking only a few seconds to form a powerful storm above its head.

Summons lightning while at the bottom of the ocean, which strikes and empowers it while seemingly damaging Giant Devil Bonefish.

Blows up a large boat.

Summons a lightning storm, with bolts capable of disintegrating a portion of a building struck. The bolts also blast multiple fighter jets out of the air.

Red lightning blast from hands moves down a street, leaving huge fires and destroying everything on the street.

Fires a red electric sphere which destroys the KAMIKAZE, a specialized tank which was covered in alloyed diamond and titanium, and was previously unphased by a short burst from Raiga’s hand bolts.

Has left large portions of the city on fire.

Calls down red lightning bolts in final battle, which cause larger blasts than regular lightning.

Fires a sizable beam of electricity from its mouth while battling its larger counterpart, which generates a large explosion which obscures larger counterpart from view.

Matches larger counterpart in a beam struggle that results in a colossal explosion, which left a crater much larger than either monster. However, the smaller Raiga perished in this.

Physical Strength
Raiga prefers engaging foes from range, but it has shown the ability to battle in melee when needed.

Folds the Giant Devil Bonefish backwards, killing it by snapping its spine.

Sends a large art sculpture flying with a tail strike.

Walks through building same height as itself, pulverizing the structure.

Slams hand on top of building, crashing through half of it.

Tears down a bridge with one strike, which sends the subway train on it flying

Rips through a waist-high building.

Durability
Resists strikes from Giant Devil Bonefish, including a bite which takes a few seconds to draw blood.

Jet fighter machine guns inflict harm, tearing off flesh and eventually making it fall. However, these guns cause sparkplosions that are vastly larger than normal jet fighter guns should reasonably create, and are later shown tearing up the streets in an explosive way.

Is frightened by jet fighter missiles, and harmed when they connect. Said missiles are inconsistent, causing building-sized explosions sometimes and other times failing to completely destroy a fast food mascot on top of a building. The bombardment of missiles does appear to leave several city blocks on fire as Raiga retreats, believed dead.

Is only aggravated by tank shells.

Handles a military assault from fighter jet machine guns, missiles, and tank shells much better than previously, being able to withstand the assault for around a minute before falling over. Said assault generated plumes of fire larger than the monster itself.

Given the significantly better performance durability-wise in its second rampage, it can be assumed that Raiga either somehow grew more durable in the two month span between attacks, or that absorbing electricity also increases Raiga’s durability.

Unphased by the attacks of its larger counterpart, only growing stronger.

Misc.
Dodges shots of the A-Cannon by moving its head out of the way, consistently.

Stated to be afraid of fire, however this is contradicted by the second rampage and Raiga being unafraid of all the fire present, suggesting this was simply bluster.

Larger Raiga
Before the military can destroy Raiga with a massive cluster bomb, a second Raiga arrives and stops this. However, despite what the human characters initially assume, this is not for altruistic reasons, as the two begin battling in short order as the larger Raiga attempts to kill its smaller counterpart. This version of Raiga utilizes yellow lightning instead of red, and towers over the Raiga the audience is used to, being approximately twice as tall. Presumably all previous feats for Smaller Raiga can also be applied to this one.

Destroys the cluster bombs before they could land with a gigantic electricity beam.

The electricity crackling off of it reaches up to planes and stealth bombers, destroying them.

Can fire small lightning blasts from its hands.

Calls down yellow lightning bolts which cause larger blasts than regular lightning.

Potentially was in the immense fireblast generated by the cluster bombs exploding, given the size of the plume and how close they were to the downed Smaller Raiga when they were interrupted.

Unphased by the attacks of its smaller counterpart, only growing stronger.

Matches its smaller counterpart in a beam struggle that generates a colossal explosion, which it survives, seemingly unharmed. The crater of the explosion is later shown to be vastly larger than either monster.

Raiga from God Raiga vs King Ohga
Raiga appears again 8 years after the events of the first movie, coming into conflict with both humanity and a new kaiju, King Ohga, a quadrupedal creature which utilizes fiery bursts of energy to destroy opposition. It is suggested that Raiga has grown even stronger since last time, likely the reason for the blue lightning it utilizes here.

King Ohga ignores military fire, blocks electric cannon shots from the new KAMIKAZE with its ability to manipulate light, and destroys the KAMIKAZE with one attack. King Ohga also handles large amounts of boulders falling onto its head and resists shots from a laser that is causing those boulders to fall from the ground above them, then destroys the Gokumei (a massive drill tank) with one attack. This is important for scaling Raiga given that they battle to a standstill initially, neither prevailing, and their final battle appears just as evenly matched.

Power

Destroys a battleship with ease.

Snipes a jet out of the air with a lightning blast.

Fires numerous small lightning blasts all throughout the city.

Generates an electric sphere that destroys the Octopus 1.

Unleashes lightning in multiple directions at once, appears to be constantly releasing them after battle with the Octopus vehicles.

The battle between Raiga and Ohga threatens to destroy the entire city.

Lightning takes out the base of a building.

Lightning blast sends a large amount of rock flying.

The sheer amount of bullshit that Raiga unleashes in the final battle is absurd, there’s constantly electric streaks and bursts erupting from it.

Destroys a nuclear missile before it can detonate with its lightning bursts, not even on purpose it seems, there is just that much electricity erupting from Raiga.

Physical Strength

Draws blood from Ohga with a claw strike. Also does so again, multiple times during their final battle.

Durability

Ignores battleship fire.

Unphased by military assault.

Survives fire blasts from Ohga.

Unphased by missiles causing large plumes of fire.

Flinches from electric attacks from the Octopus vehicles.

Falls over from the “Death Hand” weapon, a red energy wave that covers its whole body, and is more powerful than the 880,000 kilowatt lasers of the Octopus vehicles. Raiga is back up quickly.

Ignores Gatling missiles.

Resists fireball from King Ohga.

Handles bites and tackles from King Ohga.

The combination of heavy artillery and battling Ohga causes Raiga to bleed and fall over, is back up on its feet immediately.

Survives a laser barrage from King Ohga.

Misc.

Swipes projectiles out of the air.

Dodges attacks from the Octopus vehicles.

Ultimately, Both Raiga and Ohga are killed by the Plasma Proton Bomb, which seems to destroy the entire city in the blast. However, it turns out, their DNA was incredibly similar, 97% so, which means that from the ashes of them both, arises Kuga, Monster of Thunder, the fusion of the two! I wish I was joking.

Conclusion
Raiga is a baffling kaiju. In all regards. But, also quite powerful it seems, moreso than what most would likely expect.
