In the credits, soldier characters are named after special effects artists. The ones I can remember are Sargeant Baker, Officer Tippet, and Officer Harryhausen.

When Godzilla glows red and charges his dorsal plates, they look nearly identical to when Godzilla Earth went "burning mode" and charged his beam in CotEoB. The "electricity" wrapping around his dorsal plates is what I'm refering to.

There were protesters holding signs that read “Destroy All Monsters”.

The scene with the underwater drones used to explore Godzilla's temple was reminiscent of Godzilla 2000 when scientists were surveying the bottom of the ocean for Orga.

Atmospheric Reentry is a reference to Gamera and Super Gyaos in Gamera: Guardian of the Universe.
The only way it could have been better is if it said King Ghidorah as themself instead of himself.

Wish we got to see them used though, against maybe another underwater monster.

MG or possible MK are hinted at in the end credits
Skull Island is becoming 'Unstable', like in the 2005 version, also in the same clipping as the above easter egg

Eh I think that’s a little too generic to call it a reference. That happens in a lot of films, even PR1 had something similar.

Hasn't Skull Island disappeared in every incarnation?

Would say it more similar to PR1 than anything, both involves an giant, alien dragon grabbing and lifting the giant, blue/gray protagonist to the stratosphere.

Some ass jockey decided to not crop dust the crowd, dude let off some straight napalm and cleared a 20 ft radius and didn’t flinch, he just moved up closer. I prayed Sandra wouldn’t catch a whiff, talk about Endgame....just gross.

Yeah also funny because it did remind me of the halo jump from one in the way it was shot.

So I know this must be old news by now, but I'm watching Terror of Mechagodzilla again and oh crap, I didn't realize they used Clair de Lune in this movie. Was that the reason for its trailer inclusion?

Common? I can only name 3 kaiju movies that had it happen. Gamera 1, Pacific Rim, and now KOTM2019.

It happened a few times in the Godzilla comics that predated PR1. I agree it’s a callback, just not specifically to Gamera. The shot looked just as similar to the Halo Jump from G14.
In Gamera and Godzilla Legends#4, the Scene happens with the explicit intent to freeze the monster.

When John Goodman said "there will never be a worse time in Washington" in Kong Skull Island, that was potentially referenced when Ghidorah and Rodan are laying absolute waste to Washington DC

Wasn’t the Lin family photo utilizing the faces of many the actresses who played the Shobijin in the past? I wish we had a still of it because those women looked familiar to the franchise.

Most likely not. Dougherty has stated several times that he wanted this movie to feel like a "monster opera". So he wished for the music to evoke the sense of wonder and beauty of the kaiju.

In the novelization, one of Jona's men is nicknamed "The Mountain" due to his size, a reference to Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane from GOT, who similarly serves a character played by Charles Dance.

So I was in the minority in getting a big, stupid grin when Monarch's Ospreys were designated as Raptors?
