Hit 100m domestically in the pandemic era. Even though it’s at 99.1m, Quiet Place 2 will get there first.
GvK will be remembered for saving theaters/showing they're still viable more than it will for getting 100m at the box office, and that's still an impressive feat. Who ever thought that a Godzilla/King Kong film would be the one to revive movie theaters?

Godzilla vs Kong is still beating a Quiet Place 2 worldwide, plus it also was released on HBO MAX and Theaters, QP2 is only in theaters... An it came out 2 months after GvK when more vaccines had been provided.

Considering the odds GvK did a lot better.

Hell, with how bad F9 is doing WW currently, GvK has a decent shot of beating that film's total BO run as well. That's crazy.

GvK has been a huge success, not just for theaters, but for the MonsterVerse as well.

442 worldwide is really good considering it got delayed in Japan. Let’s hope for a big breakout there!

This is opening weekend for GvK in Japan, right? Anybody see any forecasts for the box office yet? According to The Numbers the movie is at $444 Million worldwide.

Forecasted for 6 million OW in Japan, which would make it hit 450

Nice! My expectation is for it to do around $20M in Japan total (+/- $5M).

Didn't open as big as KOTM but had a lower drop, so the legs are looking to be better.

F9 is also the only move this year to have made more at the box office at least Hollywood wise.

Got multiple friends working at different big retailers. That stuff was flying off the shelves. Top selling items for multiple months when it came to action figures.

Yup. Every time I go to Wal-Mart or Target and check out the toy isles the GvK section(s) are pretty sparse. All the Godzilla figures are gone with some Kong’s here and there. The last time I checked all but one Kong had their heads stolen
