cool idea but I doubt it happens.

Skull Island sinking and only leaving Kong would be pretty somber,and could leave a good plot for Kong 2 with him trying to find a new place in the world.

Back in my day, we didn't have this fancy smancy Monster Island, we had Monster Land and we liked it!

Monster Land may have come first movie wise, but continuity wise it ends up being a replacement for Monster Island.

Well, considering Monster Land replaced Monster Island after nuclear tests destroyed it, and Monster Land survived DAM, you're not wrong.

So here's a question:

We're supposed to believe that Kong is a threat to Godzilla, right? We're supposed to believe that Kong and Godzilla are near equals...


So why doesn't anyone in Monarch ever suggest anything in relation to Kong after Godzilla nearly dies from the Oxygen Destroyer? Why is it set up to where reviving Godzilla is their only option? To never mention Kong as a solution in any way whatsoever seems to suggest that they don't view Kong as an equal to take on Ghidorah to me...

Can you give an example of said plot armor?

Godzilla is intermediate. He can beat monsters more powerful than him such as King Ghidorah but still lose to monsters weaker than him like Mothra.

King Kong is the low tier hero.

No matter how much plot armor you give Kong, the thought of him standing a chance against Ghidorah is laughable.
