Re: The Godzilla 2 Speculation Thread [NO SPOILERS]
I know there's a scene in trailer 2 of what looks like O'Shea Jackson Jr. and his squad of grunts shooting at what is in all likelihood King Ghidorah, and knowing that bullets are not even something the kaiju really notice I really hope to hear one character in this movie mock at the very idea of shooting these monsters with a gun and expecting something other than catching their attention and getting yourself killed.
In a post-Shin Godzilla world, the kaiju genre should, more than ever before, be held to standards of quality that are more than just "big monster go rawr". Don't act surprised when you get trash movies when your core audience asks for nothing but the bare minimum.

Unless its a tank, jet or something larger...there really is no point.

That is pretty cool! I’d definitely be down to see it that way - but probably after I’d seen it normally first.Gojira2K wrote:Pretty cool that KOTM was one of the movies chosen to be a part of this:

I'm really curious to see how it actually works. I wonder how immersive it actually is.KaijuCanuck wrote:That is pretty cool! I watched Aquaman in the format. It’s really great. The trench scene looked amazing as the creatures were everywhere on the theater wallsGojira2K wrote:I'm really curious to see how it actually works. Is there a website for these theaters or are they not around in the US?

If you go to the ScreenX page on Regal's website, it'll tell you which US theaters have it.GFAN198423 wrote:Is there a website for these theaters or are they not around in the US?

ScreenX huh?
Well, I think I'm going to have to make my Godzilla movie going experience a little special this time around.

I think I saw Star Trek Beyond this way? It was cool. Kind of a novelty, not the future of theatres by any means, but worth doing once or twice.

I mean I think it's a given everyone is going to watch this more than like 3 times, the question is who else is going to watch it in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and ScreenX?GojiDog wrote:ScreenX huh?

Definitely wanna see imax. I’ll probably go 2D, imax and then ScreenX if there’s a theatre nearby. I could skip 3D, not a big fan.

ScreenX sounds like the theater you'd watch Debbie Does Dallas or The Jade Pussycat in.

Re: The Godzilla 2 Speculation Thread [NO SPOILERS]
I'm gonna see it in a regular theater in native 2D, most likely only once. I honestly don't bother seeing movies more than once anymore. I think G98 was the last movie I saw more than once. I mean it only takes about 3 months between theaters and home video anymore anyway.

Dolby Cinema at AMC for me! That's my go-to format for blockbusters!KingKong2005 wrote:I mean I think it's a given everyone is going to watch this more than like 3 times, the question is who else is going to watch it in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and ScreenX?GojiDog wrote:ScreenX huh?

Unless a ScreenX location is built near me within the next few months I doubt I'll get to experience it. The closest near me is 3 states away.
