Favorite Heisei Themes?
What's your favorite Heisei Themes? Personally, I love the Mechagodzilla II theme, the military march from MGII, and the main GvD theme. In addition, of course, with the 1991 Godzilla march

Lately I'm also in love with the track, I think its called Emmy and Terasawa from GvK. That flute speaks to my soul. What tone.

Re: Favorite Heisei Themes?
The quintessential Ghidorah theme. Honestly, while I know this is absolutely badass, I wish the original Showa version was easier to find.

Yeah, I’ve heard that one. The one I’m thinking of is a different one.

Re: Favorite Heisei Themes?
Okay, I know I give Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2 a lot of shit... but I have to admit its soundtrack is pretty top notch, and among the best of the Heisei soundtracks. Now please correct me if I'm wrong, but it's one of the few Ifukube Heisei scores to have a couple of unique music selections that aren't just remixed from earlier Showa movies (namely the Mechagodzilla theme, The Plant song (the one that plays during Rodan's transformation), and... kinda the G-Force March, I guess? An early version of the G-Force march plays briefly in 1957's The Mysterians, but it's very different from what we got in this movie.).
I love Godzilla vs Destoroyah's score... but... uh... unfortunately everything in it, even Requiem, is remixed from the Showa movies. Requiem is featured in The Three Treasures, from 1959, if you're curious. Still, the remixes are good ones. This movie has my favorite version of the Godzilla March.
Godzilla and Mothra, the Battle for Earth has nice remixes of the various Mothra songs: Mothra's Song, Mahara Mothra (albeit I greatly prefer the Showa version here), and Sacred Springs. Also I think the Battra theme is original (again, correct me if I'm wrong) so bonus points for that, although it's not really one of my favorites.
Godzilla vs Biollante has a great varied score when isolated from the movie, but, uh... as others have said, it isn't mixed well into the movie itself.
And of course, The Return of Godzilla, a moody, gothic score with a particular stand-out track (to me) in the ending theme, where Godzilla falls into Mount Mihara. One of the most underrated tracks in the series right there.

Re: Favorite Heisei Themes?
My biggest problem with Destroyah's score is the theme for Destroyah himself. It's an obnoxious amalgam of the DAM battle theme, Baragons theme and King Ghidorah's theme. The pounding "DUN DUN DUN DUN" motif is annoying.

side note but whatever happened to the account that video was posted to? I remember for years he posted content and all this Godzilla content, then dropped off the face of the earth after his Godzilla Anime trilogy
