The artworks are really cool, they remind me of the Criterion artworks. Except these are a lot more consistent and don't have any experimental artstyles in comparison to Criterion

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Gigantis, the fire monster? I thought not. It's not a story the Toho studios would tell you...

I don’t have Facebook and it won’t let me see anything. Does anyone have a different link?

I really want this set but I think the price point will be over $300.

This is a HUGE announcement in every sense of the word! I'd be really interested in getting this, at a reasonable price of course. :D

Looks magnificent, but I think the price will exclude me from purchasing it.

I wonder if they are going to do a set for the Heisei and Millennium eras?

Here you go: https://waxworkrecords.com/products/god ... -1954-1975

Retails for $450 in the USA only.
Waxwork Records wrote:Waxwork Records is proud to present GODZILLA: The Showa Era Soundtracks, 1954-1975. Collected for the very first time are all fifteen Godzilla film soundtracks from Japan’s Showa era in a prestigious box set showcasing the groundbreaking music from the iconic giant monster films. In collaboration with Toho, Waxwork is honored to present a lavish collector’s box set with remastered audio for vinyl, new artwork by Robert Sammelin, eighteen 180 gram colored vinyl discs, heavyweight matte laminate coated album jackets, an LP storage box with a fold-down magnetic flap featuring an album cover glossary, a turntable slipmat, all housed within a slipcase box with matte satin laminate coating.

In 1954, Godzilla clawed its way from the sea and changed cinema forever. It presented a cultural shift and altered how movie-goers around the world would absorb entertainment. It would go on the spawn fourteen beloved sequels during the historic Showa era, introduced terrifying foes and lovable allies, created lifelong fans, and inspired filmmakers, artists, and storytellers for generations to follow.

Like an unleashed Kaiju, Waxwork is excited to stomp our way further into the Monsterverse with this landmark box set that collects many of the original Godzilla film soundtracks on vinyl for the very first time and featuring the works of composers Akira Ifukube, Masaru Sato, Kunio Miyauchi, and Riichiro Manabe.

GODZILLA: The Showa Era Soundtracks, 1954-1975:
  • Godzilla (1954)
  • Godzilla Raids Again (1955)
  • King Kong vs. Godzilla (1963) 2xLP
  • Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964) 2xLP
  • Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964)

Thanks!! That looks incredible. I actually do have a working turntable (well, my wife does) but I just can’t see the practicality of it unfortunately. I listen to plenty of movie soundtracks, but it’s in my car mostly, or on headphones while traveling. It would be a very rare thing for me to sit down and listen to a Godzilla soundtrack on vinyl.

Still... it looks magnificent! If it came with digital downloads as well it would be more tempting though.

Bit too hefty of a price for me... Art on the box looks cool, though. And hey, they even got Gorilla on there! :D

Damn I like that Kong vs Godzilla picture. A little more serious looking than the goofy Homer look and Godzilla has an evil grin.

In the world of vinyl collection $450 isn't that much money for that many records.

He looks like a psychotic ape god who enters our dreams at night and torments us with visions of hell from world's that shouldn't exist but do, and the only way we could function in them is by gouging out our eyes and screaming non stop for our sense of sanity would be incompatible for those dimensions!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's Robert Sammelin but I'm not 100% sure.

Ok Godzilla looks cool but Kong looks like something out of Evil Dead or something.
