he MSTK version or just a regular DVD? If it was a regular DVD, I didn't know that any were ever produced legally...
Regular. Tokyo Shock produces them.
And they're still (currently) in print.

and I do have a fan-copy of the MST version.

Yeah, LEGENDS has been out on DVD since at least 2008.

I'll gladly eat crow if it doesn't turn out that way....but at this point it feels painfully obvious, as it has for months.

Godzilla raids again and Godzilla's Revenge.

Well it didn't really.
How did it not really get a Criterion release?

Yeah Eclipse isn't as great as Criterion. Less focus, minimal to no extra features, and lazy packaging.

X From Outer Space was simply not good enough for a Criterion release, so it was shoved in a Eclipse package.

The simple fact that it got a Criterion sponsored release is in and of itself mind boggling. There are so many more Kaiju films of greater historical and cinematic value to warrant Criterion's attention, but I guess they just have weird taste when it comes to B genres.

I could be wrong about this, but I was under the impression that Criterion obtained X From Outer Space in some sort of bundle deal with the other stuff. I doubt they really cared about it much, and were probably more interested in The Living Skeleton and maybe Goke.

This is true. X From Outer Space was just lucky it was sponsored by Criterion for its release.

I just recently bought the Gamera Trilogy on blu-ray. It's my first time ever being able to really see the movies and I really enjoyed them. :D

Just ordered Godzilla vs. Hedorah.

Still can't find inexpensive copies of Sea Monster and Mechagodzilla.
I can't believe that Godzilla was the only surviving member of its species, but if we continue conducting nuclear tests, it's possible that another Godzilla might appear somewhere in the world again.

I know where you can get boots of those for cheap, but its the Japanese versions only. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. ;)
*EDIT* Sorry, I noticed Ebirah has the English dub included with the Japanese version.
I actually was able to find Mechagodzilla yesterday.
