Oh, absolutely. This is wonderful, especially considering the city Godzilla's destroying happens to also be the birthplace of Eiji Tsuburaya.

As far as an online release, I'm honestly really skeptical. Japanese museums are notorious for their "no recording" policies with cool stuff like this (Shin animatronic, anyone?).

It is really cool. Some footage of the making is on reddit. I love seeing this suit with masers and other 1985 looking effects.

This..... is just beautiful. The fact that this shows Godzilla destroying the birthplace of Eiji Tsuburaya, while looking like he did in 1954 and with practical effects is just.... wow. I hope we get to see at least some kind of leak to see this short film, it would be amazing to watch!

I wonder how long it’ll be, and if it’s a temporary attraction at the museum. If it’s 22+ mins I could easily see a small digital release or physical release in japan. if we get lucky, it could be just be uploaded to Toho’s YouTube once they’ve mailed it enough.

It’s a shame cause I’m leaving Tokyo on Jan 6th(I have fucking jury duty on the 7th). If it’s still playing next year when I move to Japan (most likely), I’ll be sure to visit the museum and report back if no one does already.

Return of the haunted Gigan suit starring the 54 suit anyone?

There is something cool about old suits being remade. It just sorta shows that if things are made with better material in a modern era they can still hold up and look good. Would kill for an updated Angurius.

I honestly got a little emotional watching the footage on reddit. Seeing 54' again, the one who started it all... Ugh, man it hit me right in the feels. Even if it is just a short little thing, it's absolutely beautiful, nonetheless. How I wish I could visit Japan when this thing releases.

This looks so awesome! No CGI can ever replace the suitmation-style effects! (Sorry, just my opinion)
To see the old Showa Godzilla in color and in a modern environment makes me feel good! I absolutely have to see the final product!
