I assume this from the Godzilla Chronicles, which were published in the 1990's (1993, 1998 and 1999 to be exact). It also shows off the heads of various Godzilla suits, like '68, '64, etc but they are much more damaged than the King Kong one even by that point.EvaGhidorah01 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 7:46 amThere are of course many other great things you can find as well if you scour online. I've seen images of the remains of the '67 King Kong suit before that looked like they could've been taken anywhere from around the 1980s - pre2010s.

Re: Any surviving showa suits?
Do you have pics of the heads? I don't think they've been posted in here. The 66 Godzilla and 67 Kong heads have been posted in here along with a couple others like Titanosaurus but not 68 and 64.Arbok wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 6:55 pmI assume this from the Godzilla Chronicles, which were published in the 1990's (1993, 1998 and 1999 to be exact). The photos of anguirus were taken before the filming of godzilla vs mechagodzilla, you can tell because he still has his fangs
Also does anyone have info about the king caesar suit?

Re: Any surviving showa suits?
I talked to someone who went to the godzilla museum in texas and he said it was there, but it was missing a wing, had no legs, a destroyed jaw and barely any feathersOokondru99 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 05, 2014 8:12 pm What about the Giant Condor Prop? I doubt it considering it was burned and had water damage as well. Plus it seemed to be falling apart back in '66, doubt anyone knows/ cares.
Showa mogueras nose was also there

Since when is there a “Godzilla Museum” in Texas, and why would they have props from actual Godzilla movies?

I'll gladly eat crow if it doesn't turn out that way....but at this point it feels painfully obvious, as it has for months.

I think there might be a bit of confusion here and that this is referring to the temporary Anime Matsuri shop?

Re: Any surviving showa suits?
My first comment here. Personally, I believe all of the Showa Kaiju suits/props/puppets are still around, but in terrible shape. I read that the Showa suits had a relatively strong inner frame made of wire. Another website had a video on the 1965 Godzilla suit head they found. From those two sources I believe the following: The wire frames are rusting, much of the skin has rotted away, any skin left clinging to the frame has hardened due to oxidisation.

I can assure you that, aside from a few pieces (some heads, Gigan's buzzsaw, Hedorah's eyes), most of the Showa suits and props are long gone.

‘Cept for MG of course, even though they did Frankenstein it. Also one of the Tsuburaya Ghidorah’s heads still exists.Legion1979 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 2:40 am I can assure you that, aside from a few pieces (some heads, Gigan's buzzsaw, Hedorah's eyes), most of the Showa suits and props are long gone.

Re: Any surviving showa suits?
Someone should do 3D scans of surviving suits and props from days past. That way, they can use CG models of them in future films.
