MechaGodzilla '75, Godzilla ('70s), & King Caesar '74 vs. King Ghidorah (King Keeeeeeeevin!)

Post by Mac Daddy MM »

*SPOILERS AHEAD!*

Godzilla '70s, MechaGodzilla II, King Caesar vs. King Ghidorah (MonsterVerse)

Arena: Boston
Rules: This is specifically the MechaGodzilla from ToMG while Godzilla is the version from 1973/4. Showa crew are scaled to MonsterVerse sizes.

Leaning Team Showa. Showa Godzilla's strength isn't anything to scoff at and his Goji-Fu should take Ghiddy off guard. And with MG lending his firepower as support and King Caesar running around, I think they have a pretty solid chance at taking down the King and Kevin.

This is definitely doable for the Showa crew. Legendary Ghidorah's biggest strength is how potent he is in CC and his regen... well the problem here is that 70's Godzilla is a fucking monster in melee, and will be throwing Ghidorah around like a ragdoll. King Caesar can take a few hits and be a distraction, but... that's really about it. What Showa Godzilla has to really worry about is if Ghidorah does the drop from orbit on him or goes for the energy siphon, but that's why MG75 is there, to provide cover fire and blast into Ghidorah.

Now, if Ghidorah sees MG75 as a walking battery and tries to drain him, that is going to make things interesting. Showa Godzilla and KC won't be enjoying the wing lightning that results, but that's if Ghidorah can use MG as a battery. Otherwise... Ghidorah is in for a very bad day between Goji outmuscling him in CC and MG blowing holes into his hide.

(And if we take the novelization into account, then Ghidorah can only regen with excess radiation around, which REALLY screws Ghidorah over here, because then he's not coming out of this alive.)

Now would Goji be able to absorb the lightning attacks like he did in the thunderstorm, however...

At his peak, Showa Godzilla regularly proved to be physically too much for monsters that weigh several times as much as he does. He was manhandling kaiju like Hedorah, Ghidorah and Megalon in the early 70s and by the time he got to Zone Fighter (which is canon), his strength was straight-up outrageous. Winning a clash against Zandora, flooring Wargilgar with a single arm, overpowering Spider Uros and Garoborg at the same time, etc. As far as live action Godzillas go, Showa is consistently the strongest version we’ve seen. He’s certainly capable of outmuscling Ghidorah, and with King Caesar bringing his own solid physicality to the table, the Showa team already has a clear edge in close quarters.

And then there’s Mechagodzilla. The interesting thing is that this is a fight where MG’s All-Out Attack would prove to be surprisingly useful. Ghidorah’s sheer mass and the amount of space he’ll take up means he’s gonna be taking hits...and suffering from them. MG’s jagged beam can cut through mountains and his Revolving Finger missiles were uprooting city blocks. It’s weapons like these that are going to absolutely ruin Ghidorah’s health, and if what Gira mentioned regarding Ghiddy’s regen is true, he won’t be recovering from the damage anytime soon.

This is going to be a battle where Ghidorah will eventually be overwhelmed by the two physically powerful kaiju engaging him in CQC and the space robot providing excellent cover fire for his teammates.

Team Showa for the win.
