Jirass vs Baragon (Showa)

Post by ShinGojira14 »

Jirass:

VS

Baragon: https://www.tohokingdom.com/kaiju/baragon_showa.htm#65

Rules:

Stats: Sizes are unchanged; no retreat.

Battleground: Lake Kitayama

Verdict: This is pretty hard to decide. For one, Baragon lost two fights to a literal giant human with no superpowers or any extraordinary abilities other than reanimated severed tissue; Jirass is a giant mutated lizard nearly as big as Godzilla, with a heat ray to back it up. However, on the other hand, Jirass is an incompetent piece of sh*t when it comes to combat and didn’t even land a single blow on Ultraman, nor did he use his heat ray in a smart fashion. And at the very least Baragon’s magma heat ray was enough to start a forest fire, while Jirass’ didn’t do jack-sh*t.

Leaning Baragon here.

I'd bet Baragon wins since it could jump over the Electric Heat Ray and is at least capable in a fight, more so than Jirass at least. Ultraman was toying with Jirass during their fight while Baragon was able to wrestle Frankenstein down and while Ultraman has super abilities they only get used to kill enemies.

Tough one. I am leaning Baragon but we don't have a good idea of how powerful the beam Jirass uses is since he can't seem to hit anything other than a few generic pieces of aircraft. That would be his only hope to win this fight. Baragon's heat ray isn't special but it did at least push Frankenstein back a bit. Depending on which ending you want Baragon did technically get a draw. Because of the burrowing he did Frankenstein fell under. So even if Jirass somehow kills Baragon there is a very good chance he will meet the same fate.

Giving it to Baragon for being a more aggressive fighter. Both their heat rays are mediocre, with their best feats involving blowing up rocks. Jirass will likely find himself getting jump-tackled by Baragon with little in the way of fighting back. It literally took Baragon getting his neck snapped to put him down for good, something Jirass has no way to replicate.

Baragon is a vicious and relentless fighter with more ways of controlling the battlefield thanks to his leaping and burrowing abilities giving him plenty of ambush opportunities that most likely end with him sinking his jaws straight into Jirass' jugular
