Re: KWC TRAILERS!

Post by shippersdreamer »

Something alien is stalking Tokyo from above. It cannot be harmed, it cannot be reasoned with. It cannot be understood. Any and all attempts to study this strange lifeform has ended in failure.

Even Godzilla is staying away from this unknown entity, afraid.

A year after the events of Lake Ishi and Biollante, Miki Saegusa struggles to live her normal life. When the call from the newly created G-Force has her try to communicate with the strange alien entity, it too ends in failure.

In order to stop Dogora from eating the entire world, sacrifices need to made. And those sacrifices may cost the world dearly.

Spoiler:
Rain fell in foggy sheets upon the Chiyoda Ward in Central Tokyo.

It was the beginning of Autumn; the air had turned cold and crisp. The clouds hung in an overcast blanket across the sky, a gentle cross between white and timber gray that wept their millions of watery tears upon the reaches of Japan. Like a downpour of mist, the sprinkling particles of water fell to the ground thousands of meters below, draping the city in a transparent quilt of H2o. But as beautiful as the sight was to behold, the massive outline that loomed somewhat obscured within it was anything but. For within this quilted downpour of water vapor, a most ominous visage loomed tall like an omen of death.

In the middle of the once-great city, a giant stood. An icon of human sin; reptilian in shape but abominable in appearance. Frozen in place, having never moved in years. Posed with gaping jaws and outstretched small arms, it towered menacingly over the earth like a colossal, monstrous stone gargoyle. A gigantic tail twisted behind it, suspended in the air in the creature’s last moments of consciousness before its defeat. Spinal protrusions weaved in the shape of maple leaves lined the beast’s back in a triple row, like a devilish crown of cancerous bone; a fitting attribute to the monster’s bumpy, scarred skin.

Occasionally, a citizen or two would look out towards the long-damaged Chiyoda Ward and glimpse upon the horrific beast, and even in its unconscious state the very outline of the creature sent shivers of dread through them. Memories of a nation crumbling, a city engulfed in a sea of fire, hospitals overflowing and the screams of the dying and mourning would permeate their minds before they then moved on with their daily lives, passing the frozen monolith by to leave it behind them for the day. Their instincts compelled them to worry constantly, but their memories told them otherwise. After all, what was there to worry about?

Godzilla was defeated.

And he wasn’t getting back out.

*****

The heavens began to shift.

It was an occurrence entirely off-prediction. An event that hadn’t been scheduled. The clouds above were beginning to build considerably, their once mild timber beginning to deepen into an ugly, foreboding gray. Flashes of lightning began to silently streak through the engorging thunderclouds, the quaking rumble of thunder following suit. It was as if, for whatever reason, the sky had suddenly come to with a mind and will of its own. As if Mother Nature was about to throw a temper tantrum out of nowhere, for reasons entirely beyond one’s comprehension. And the storm clouds weren’t just dark, they were huge. It wasn’t merely Tokyo that the clouds covered up; from Fukushima all the way to the city of Osaka, the storm clouds cast their hardening rain over the island of Japan. The storm began to worsen; no longer was it merely a falling sheet of tiny water sprinkles. All where the clouds enshrouded, a colossal microburst occurred out of nowhere, a massive downpour of raindrops the size of a man’s thumb showering upon the dumbfounded and frightened individuals present to bear witness to the rare phenomenon.

It was not the only.

As streaks of lightning began to dance across the clouds, the awestruck inhabitants of Japan were so taken aback by what they were witnessing that not a single one paid any mind to the changes being made to an entity they thought forever sealed away- at least, until a sound they wanted to hear less than anything else reached their ears.

… … …CRACK!

*****

The extremity- the irregularity of the weather was all that was needed to cause a reaction.

A crimson shade began to light up within the gaping scars that adorned Godzilla’s body; the nuclear fission that energized the creature’s blood, which had been frozen for years, re-igniting at long last. The ice encasing the abominable reptile began to melt as heat built up within its gigantic body, the creature’s eyes showing their pupils and irises through the melting water. The same blood-red hue from the beast’s scars began to faintly radiate from within its dorsal plates, a low hum subsequently beginning to drone from the pits of its huge body. Mounds upon mounds of steam rose from Godzilla as all water that touched the giant animal evaporated with the already intensifying heat.

The frozen being suddenly echoed a quaking rumble as its right arm twitched, breaking off what little chunks of ice remained. The glow of its nuclear hemoglobin was at full intensity, the superheated flow up and running again. The world looked upon the scene thought only to exist in their worst nightmares: Godzilla was no longer still. Before the very eyes of Tokyo’s terrified citizens, the mutated abomination was actually moving.

The weight of four years’ worth of sleep crashed down upon the newly awakened saurian, who fell forward to bend over with an alligator-like bellow. For a time, the giant reptile remained hunched over in exhaustion, his beady eyes staring off blankly at nothing in particular. Godzilla held motionless, his expressionless face concealing the fatigue that plagued his 92,000 metric-ton body, while rain continued to harmlessly bombard his glowing back only to evaporate from the burning heat. His throat bobbed ever-so-slightly in an almost lizard-like fashion as he rested, instinctively recognizing the need to regain his sapped strength. He was free of his hibernation-induced prison at last, but his body was taxed with enervation and hunger, even with the energy the abnormal freak storm had given him.

Water and air were steadily being absorbed into his system and converted into the radioactive isotope he relied upon, but that wasn’t enough. Much of the radioactive waste running through his system was old, very old; he wasn’t just hungry, he was starving. He needed a meal, and he’d rather get it sooner rather than later. Alluring as the temptation of exhaustion was to his tired body, Godzilla’s roaring hunger instincts overcame it in the end. With a tired push, the evolved mutant sluggishly stood back to his full towering height. A low boom rumbled from his jaws as he turned about, his nostrils and internal radar picking up the scent of the very thing his body needed right now, the only meal that could re-energize him from his tired state: nuclear energy. There was a power plant just southeast of where he was standing.

And so that was the course he was going to take… … …

But the fates were as cruel upon awakening as they were back before this land’s inhabitants imprisoned him. Lightning began to flash again and again amidst the roaring downpour; before he had taken his fifth step Godzilla suddenly stopped. His phased array radar had picked up a presence- and from what his senses told him, it was a living being. The Incarnation of God slowly turned about as the lightning flashes became larger and brighter, before a bellowing roar made his head tilt quickly up. That roar wasn’t from the thunder… … …

Another flash of lightning- and a creature clad in white-skinned armor descended forth from the heavens. Despite their tiny size in contrast to his skull, Godzilla’s eyes packed vision that would make even the sharpest birds of prey jealous. So, even from a considerable distance, he could see and make out every detail with this strange beast just fine. The airborne creature resembled some kind of mammalian carnivore, akin to a bear or wolf, but it seemingly lacked fur. Two horn-like tusks jutted out from the sides of its head, while two pointed protrusions stuck out of its back. Its head seemed adorned with a crown of spines, while its tail ended in a golden trident-like appendage. Godzilla’s expressionless face could not conceal the shock he felt as he stared at the oncoming creature; the nuclear reptile had never seen anything like it.

With another great roar, Balkzardan descended upon the earth at last, the Chiyoda Ward trembling from his mighty paws touching down upon the earth. The electrical deity glared at the radioactive powerhouse, contempt burning behind his blue eyes as he pawed the ground. Out of all humankind’s sins and mistakes brought upon the face of the earth, there had been none quite as serious of a threat as this one. Godzilla was a walking nuclear disaster, a living radioactive plague that possessed truly limitless potential. An ever-evolving catastrophe that was constantly on the verge of becoming an unstoppable juggernaut of incomparable power. It was the greatest threat to the balance and well-being of mother nature in existence, a biological tumor given physical form. A stain upon the planet that had to be erased before it escalated any further. Pawing the ground once more, Balkzardan roared as he straightened his body into an attack position, and began to hunt.

Godzilla slowly gaped his jaws, bellowing like a giant alligator as he took a step back, straightening his monolithic body in a defensive posture. His tail held stiffly upwards in an arc, like a frightened cat. The mutated intermediary reptile stood his ground in the face of a clear threat, bellowing a second time to make his warning clear:

Stay away!

As lightning continued to dance about through the sky like colossal spirits and thunder rumbling ominously behind each strike, the two colossi stood facing one another, one preparing to judge exactly when to make its move while the other waiting for the inevitable attack.

Spoiler:
12,000 Earth Years Ago

Jupiter.

Named so after the roman equivalent of the King of the Greek Gods himself, largest of the gas giants in our solar system, she loomed unthinkably colossal in the starry distance; a spherical tapestry of swirling colors churning and twisting into visible storms. Despite possessing only a select handful of rings, the monster planet possessed 63 moons all but unseen against her gigantic bulk. Orbiting their mother like tiny children, Jupiter’s moons were truly numerous, but a select handful of them were more recognizable than their smaller brethren. These “Galilean” moons, as they would be so called, were all larger than our very own Luna; a handful of them someday to be the subject of most intense research by scientists many millions of miles away- and most shockingly, one in particular was the scenery of a sight neither it nor its gaseous parent had ever seen before in their billions of years of existence.

Jupiter towered large in the night sky of the magnificent moon of Europa, the audience of a great god gazing powerfully upon the gladiatorial spectacle that presented itself before her on the surface of her icy child.

Scales gold as the sun herself glimmered brilliantly from the ambient light given off by Europa’s gorgeous scenery, horrific talons digging into the moon’s icy flesh with building frustration as their owner stood facing its opposer. Six red eyes furrowed in cold glares while two huge tails ending in biological maces of spikes swung behind a truly monolithic body; two colossal wings folded at its sides, massive even while not extended to their full span. The Death Song of Three Storms, a great dragon who fell from the stars and birthed a storm that swallowed man and gods alike; The One Who was Many fixed the one who stood across from him with a look that he wished could kill. King Ghidorah bared his teeth in baleful snarls as he reared his tails up and shook them like a rattlesnake, his three draconic heads lowered facing his opposition.

A quadrupedal fortress of a body clad in bulging golden muscles glinted just as hauntingly beautiful; four bear-like paws tipped with curved claws cracking the ice their owner stood upon from sheer weight alone. A trio of horned gargoyleish heads sat upon three long necks much like their opposer, baring their jagged rows of dagger-like teeth while fixing King Ghidorah with their own malevolent stares from their glowing blood-red eyes. Two wings stretched out of his back, temporarily stagnant as they were of no use for the moment. The Universe’s Strongest Monster as he was known by some, Monster X by others; a dragon said to have descended from the very beast he stood opposing at this very moment, birthed from the very flesh of King Ghidorah himself and taken on a life and thirst for wicked carnage of his own. The Giant Demon Beast stood equally powerful on the frigid ice that made up of Europa’s surface, Keizer Ghidorah eying his alleged ancestor with his own gaze of menacing vexation as he pawed the frozen water below him with a mighty paw.

Two draconic world destroyers from beyond the stars; both unmistakably from the same evil lineage, regardless if one was directly descended from the other. On paper, it was a most perfect match. These two monstrous relatives should have made perfect allies upon meeting- and yet, one simple factor rooted deep within their blasphemous genes prevented what should’ve been such a faultlessly easy concept from being true: jealousy.

Both space hydras had too large of a vicious ego, as large as the gas giant that the very moon they stood upon orbited, to have ever even considered becoming allies. To them, the title and reputation of being the greatest, most dreaded and fearfully powerful force of evil and destruction in the universe was everything; to them it was a prize too great to share with another, even of the same bloodline. Such a reputation was everything, priority one.

All other priorities were rescinded.

King Ghidorah rattled his tails spread his wings, revealing their full true size as he reared himself to his full height, three jaws snapping open to ululate his signature bell-like cackling laughter. Colossal he was, larger than his rival relative across from him, yet his alleged spawn remained unfazed. Rearing up on his hind legs like a demonic horse, Keizer Ghidorah filled Europa’s soundscape with his own howling chorus of demented screams, cracking the ice upon bringing his front paws back down. It was clear that neither space devil was backing down, thus closing all paths to any outcome other than certain conflict. Baring their razor teeth, digging their claws into the icy flesh of Europa, glaring hateful daggers at one another, the three-headed wyrms stood facing one another unmoving; firing away with terrible war cries and threatening gestures, yet remaining stagnant. Refusing to charge into battle to begin the inevitable conflict despite all the time in the world. Almost as if waiting for some kind of unseen cue, or some visible external signal by the fates themselves to begin.

To their concealed surprise, the motherland herself gave her answer.

Geysers sprung to life and ejected their vaporous cargo, spitting massive columns of liquid nitrogen into the atmosphere, and both monstrous combatants took that as the signal that they were to wait no longer. The time was now!

Keizer Ghidorah thrust his forepaws against the ice and screamed his maniacal howls, exhilaration to topple his more infamous relative and take his place as the most feared force of evil in the cosmos coursing through his massive body as he broke into a galloping sprint. King Ghidorah snaked downward and unleashed three sonorous cackles of defiance, powering his legs forth as he straightened himself and rushed towards his smaller kin. Putting all the strength into their necessary locomotive limbs, the extraterrestrial dragons built up velocity until they were racing towards one another at their top speeds like biological freight trains, nearing rapidly by the second until… … …

BOOM!

The shockwaves from the great impact whipped up chunks of ice as large as an adult bison for miles around. 250,256 tons of interstellar dragon met in the mightiest collision Europa had never seen in its billions of years of existence. Geysers erupted forth a second time as the battle of the ages commenced.

Spoiler:
Flesh and metal exploded all around him. The only sources of light in this dark abyss he surrounded himself in were the flickering lights signaling the demise of several participants in this very bloody battle. Even his powerful fireballs weren’t reliable in this conflict to shed some light for him and the aircraft accompanying him.

Gamera huffed as he soared through the storm, navigating it as best as he could on top of the hail of Sonic beams cutting through the dark storm clouds. Several have hit him through the course of the assault and with each hit, made him shriek in pain more and more. The Self Defense accompanying him weren’t so lucky as they were cut down in seconds and yet, more plowed through the cloudy entrances.

The sentinel wanted to feel sympathy for those throwing themselves against the Shadow of Evil, but he felt nothing. No matter how many times he saw an aircraft explode before his very eyes, he couldn’t feel it.

Gamera couldn’t help but wonder if it was the battle itself that elicit such indifference towards their heroic sacrifices. The Guardian didn’t know long he had been engaged with the horde of Gyaos for. A few minutes? A few hours? Days?

He didn’t know.

Was it the reemergence of the Gyaos? The beings twisted beyond anything anyone can imagine; he worked so hard to eradicate only for them to show up bigger and stronger in a matter of a few years. He felt a change of personality during his hunt for Gyaos, a change resulting in him only caring about the results.

Even then, that rage, that fear, were not felt by him now.

With the flap of wings briefly being heard in the deafening storming, Gamera unleashed a roar and slammed his elbow to the left, eliciting a gurgled, disgusting cry from a Gyaos. He reeled the vile being in range of his vision and eyed at the beast struggling to roar at him. The Gyaos choking up blood, struggled to keep its mouth steady, readying to fire a sonic beam, but was cut off! Gamera unleashed a plasma ball at its head, detonating it upon impact. The sentinel pulled its elbow out the Gyaos’ esophagus and let it plummet to the ground.

Or was it the being he recently confronted?

The being that nearly took his life and ensured the Earth to the Gyaos. He didn’t know what it was or where it came from, only it was connected to a girl in some sort of way. Whether it was something it bonded with or a battery to sustain itself, he couldn’t let it continue. No matter the cost.

Despite it all, he felt hatred in the girl, one unparalleled by any other, but then, confusion as she was lost. She had no direction. It was if she was only driven by one goal and once it was settled, there was nothing left for her. She became a husk.

Could the same be said for him?

A sonic beam sliced through Gamera’s shoulder, his vocal cords ringing immediately as a shriek of pain emerged from his mouth. Taking his mind off of his thoughts, he spotted the Gyaos and jetted towards it, shoving his hand through its back. The twisted creature let out a series of pained cries, feeling the life fade from its eyes. Gamera wouldn’t let the beast suffer for long as it fired another fireball, detonating the back of its head. The screams ceased as the beast went limp, alerting Gamera it was no longer a threat. The warden threw the Gyaos down and continued to dash across the sky, looking for another to dispose of.

Yet, the last theory plagued his thoughts. He knew this was the end, but didn’t know how this would culminate. Either the Gyaos would rip him to shreds and feast on every bit of his body before overrunning the planet or he would perish, taking all of them with him. Those were only a few of the possibilities that rang through his mind.

The sentinel noticed blood seeping through his many wounds and his shell severely cracked, with parts of it even torn off. He didn’t know how much longer he could keep up as the feeling of unconsciousness loomed over him, knowing it can overtake him at any second.

Still, despite it all, these questions will linger on for whatever time he has left.

A series of echoed shrieks rang through with several flaps drumming through his ears. Gamera glanced onward only to be met with five sonic beams cutting through several parts of his body. The conservator screeched in agony, the afflicted bones were split into pieces from his shoulder all the way to his legs, piercing them through his shell. From this point on, Gamera could no longer keep himself up in the sky. He felt himself descending rapidly through as a Gyaos dove in towards him, planting its feet onto his stomach. Before Gamera could react, the Gyaos opened its maw and launched its head forward, sinking its fangs into the sentinel’s shoulder.

Gamera elicited a blood filled cry as the Gyaos ripped a huge chunk of flesh off and devoured it. The winged beast let out another cry, going in for another bite, but Gamera mustering every piece of strength he could, fired a plasma ball at it. Sadly, his aim was off, only blasting the ravenous beast’s left wing off. The Gyaos shrieked out, but its desire to feast overcame it and went for another bite, clamping its jaws onto the shoulder wound.

Unleashing another scream, Gamera could do nothing as he watched the Gyaos feast on him. His strength very nearly depleted as more and more Gyaos swooped down towards him to claim a bite from his very flesh.

The sentinel knew this was the end and a bad one at that. Once they were finished with him, the Gyaos would turn their attention to humanity. He failed them and that was all there was to it. Still, he couldn’t find any remorse in it, instead feeling it was his time to go.

Gamera felt himself let go as he prepared for his mortal enemies to pick him apart. The flaps of their wings drumming closer and closer, their cries filled with excitement. He would soon be embraced by the afterlife, with his troubles not being able to follow him.

However, fate had an odd sense of deciding one’s path.

The rough, roaring engines announced themselves as a volley of missiles dashed across the clouds, striking the vicious horde. Upon impact, several Gyaos exploded upon impact while others were badly scorched by the powerful weaponries’ radius. The Gyaos weren’t entirely helpless, however, as they immediately fired their beams, cutting through several of the JSDF aircraft.

Gamera couldn’t believe his eyes as he watched the fireworks above him. The projectiles being spewed out by both sides were extinguishing every combatant piece by piece. The explosives detonating in every space colored the clouds from a near pitch black to a bright orange. The remains of flesh and metal rained down from the heavens, plummeting past the conservator and his attacker.

The meager amounts of fire crashing in on him slowly built his strength back up, but it would not be enough to unleash a powerful attack. Despite being limited, it would be enough to raise his arm up. Gamera slowly wrapped his hand around the Gyaos’ throat, earning a panicked shriek as it felt the air escape from its body.

Gamera, for sure knew he would at least take out this one Gyaos before he met his demise. His grip tightening around the disgusting beast’s neck while Gyaos desperately tried to flee. Its body rattled around, its feet clawing at Gamera’s stomach, drawing blood out, but it did not deter him from relinquishing his grip.

More and more explosions filled the sky, coloring the clouds in an even bright orange as more pieces from the deceased combatants rained down. With the raining wreckage, pieces collapsed on the two slicing them apart. Metal shredded Gamera’s hand, cleaving two of his fingers off while the Gyaos eyes popped from the shrapnel, blinding it. The two would cease their fighting as the debris showered them in their last moments of descent.

Their cries were the last to be heard in this war torn storm.

CRASH!

The two made an impact on the broken streets of Kyoto. The thud could be heard beyond the city and into the neighboring settlements. Gamera couldn’t hold back his cries as the center of his shell shattered into pieces. Broken pieces launching themselves into the surrounding buildings, shattering them in the resulting collision. The Gyaos elicited the same reaction with its feet snapping off from the impact, unleashing a panic filled scream, now thrashing around.

Gamera groggily observed the beast blindly throbbing around, unaware of its surroundings. Had it been any other fight, he would have felt relieved about being in better condition, but had no such feelings on the resulting collision. All that matter was fulfilling his promise of eliminating the devil on top of him.

Once more he reached for the beast’s neck, his hand shaking and even nearly giving out. Gamera growled quietly, commanding himself to not back down, reinforcing the meager amount of strength on hand, ensuring he made it to the esophagus. His hand still shook rapidly, binding it around the Gyaos’ neck, unleashing a gurgled cry from the one-winged beast.

The thrashing nearly made Gamera let go of his grasp, but his determination was stronger, tightening his grip. Air rapidly fled from its throat while Gamera punctured his sharp nails inside, drawing blood from it. Gyaos gagged, feeling the very life dissipate from its body until there was almost nothing.

With a quick burst, Gamera brutally snapped the Gyaos’ neck! The sentinel kept its grip on his deceased foe, staring at the lifeless corpse. Gamera felt himself breathing rapidly, slowly turning his attention to the sky above him, noticing how the orange filled clouds were vanishing before his eyes. He was greeted by a clear night sky with the stars shining brightly down on him. It was as if a costly battle never took place.

The hungered cries of the Gyaos were gone.

Gamera felt nothing of their presence. Not only their lack of it in Kyoto, but the whole world.

The sentinel couldn’t believe it.

The Shadow of Evil was vanquished.

His goal was complete. The mission that was bestowed onto him by an ancient civilization was over. Gamera knew he should feel pride in accomplishing his mission, but like his feelings over the course of the battle, nothing fueled him.

Gamera no longer had a purpose.

He was no longer a guardian.

The Guardian of the Universe immediately felt it would have been better had he perished in the fight. He would have at least died with a purpose, but now he would die with nothing.

The pain still flooded his body, feeling his bright green blood oozing from his wounds and the bones in his legs shattered. Calling upon the sparse strength he had, he tightened his grip onto the Gyaos’ broken neck and lifted himself up just enough to get himself to land on his stomach.

The collision between the ground and his hole ridden stomach unleashed a pained fill cry from the guardian. He stalled for a few moments, gathering every ounce of strength he could before he could move once more.

It was at that moment he would make himself disappear. Disappear far into the trenches of the ocean, just as he did before the Gyaos made themselves known a few years back. If he could not be granted death, then he could at least be granted with exile.

There was nothing left for him in this world. Humanity actively fired on him this past year, hoping to eliminate him from the very planet he once loved. He couldn’t blame them, however, as he would do the same had he been in their position.

With his remaining hand; albeit very badly, he reached forward, pulling himself up. It was the only means of transportation he could offer himself as his body was still broken. It would take years for all of his wounds to be remedied and he wouldn’t want to spend it all in a city where he could potentially endanger everyone around him.

With another pull, he moved forward towards his goal of reaching the ocean, earning another cry from himself. The rough terrain rubbing against his wounded stomach made the journey very unbearable. Still, he pressed forward as one human probed his mind.

The girl he was once connected with. He viewed her as a paragon of humanity, but ever since their connection was severed, she was just like everyone else. A bystander. One he wouldn’t normally notice, but was gifted to see her one last time after the fight with Iris. He couldn’t feel it, but knew he should be thankful their connection shattered when it did. It ended up being a blessing in disguise as the pain she would have shared with him would have killed her. Even then, he no longer felt that comradery with her.

Compared to the two of them, she could still have some sort of purpose. She was free from their commitments and had a life she could explore while he was reduced to a shadow of his former self.

With another tug, Gamera clawed forward, cringing as the ground pressed sharply against his stomach. Only one further thought filled his mind and it was one that made him feel something.

Gamera was nothing and no matter what he did in the future, it would remain that way. He was the last of an old civilization and nothing could change that.

To the former Guardian of the Universe, it was a fate worse than death.

Spoiler:
The Monzen district was particularly busy today.

The streets were clogged with crowds, thousands of individuals trying to carry out their tasks and desires at the same time leading to a chaotic, noisy day. People pushed past others to get to the market, trying to get there first to get the freshest food. In a world where luxury was scarce, people being born in the same village they died in with most never getting a chance to leave it for even a short time, any small pleasure was craved desperately. To the point where fresh food, something that had once been casually expected in the time before this, was something that people shoved and clawed for.

In an alleyway, secluded from the crowds, one man was finding out how far some people were willing to go.

“Just give us the damn meat, and no one gets hurt. It’s so simple.” Said a burly, disheveled man as he cracked calloused knuckles. Next to him, a scawnier man with a wide grin cracked his neck. Before them, curled up on the ground and clutching a bag in his hand, was a young man.

“I need this for my family, they’re so hungry. Please, just, let me go. Take the rest of my money, take anything, just not this food.” He moaned in terror, keeping it close to him like it was a bar of gold.

“We don’t want your damn money, we could rob a shmuck with more than pocket change if we wanted that!” The demented looking man replied. “Give us that bag! If you do that, your family gets to still have you!”

“Someone,” The victim yelled out, “please help me!”

“Shut the hell up!” The bulkier criminal demanded, cracking his knuckles against the family man’s face. “I’m done talking, I’m taking that damn food now!”

Another strike filled the young father’s mouth with a coppery taste, leaving him to just moan pitifully. For days on end he had saved the money from his meager job so he could purchase this proper meal, instead of the rations he and his family had been living off of. For a few minutes he was the happiest he had been in years, only to suddenly be dragged into an alleyway and having his world flipped upside down.

“Please, my family…”

“Maybe you shouldn’t have been so weak, huh?” The thin thug almost cackled as his partner sent another brutal strike into the victim’s face.

Pulling his arm back far, the criminal prepared to break the nose with this punch. But when he went to swing, something grabbed his arm. A confused sound left the man’s mouth as he turned to see what it was, only to get a taste of his own medicine as a strong punch slammed into his cheek. He stumbled, crashing into his partner in crime and almost sending both to the ground. Cursing, they both looked to see who had barged in on their assault.

Short, black hair framed a chiseled face as a man in commoner’s clothes stood tall, a look of fury on his face as he settled into a martial arts stance.

“I’m going to give you two one chance. Get the hell out of here, or I’m going to drag you to the cops myself.”

“Oh shit, it’s Dan!” The scrawny felon barked out in terror, scrambling to his feet. His comrade joined him, not wanting to go a round with the man who had just swung the hardest punch he’d ever taken in his life.

Dan Moroboshi’s features grew softer as he sighed, before turning to the curled up man and offering him a hand.

“Thank you sir, thank you!” The young father accepted the hand up, getting to his feet. He was still shaking and breathing heavily, but the arrival of this savior was quickly relieving his anxiety. “Whatever you want in return, I’ll—“

“Don’t. I don’t do this for pay, keeping people safe is the only reward I need.” The vigilante replied. “Now go to that family you were talking about, they’re probably worried sick.”

“Yes, you’re right. Again, I can’t thank you enough, Dan.” The family man bowed, before hurrying away.

Dan watched him leave, a weary smile on his face. He looked past him to into the distance, to see the towering walls in the distance.

He still couldn’t look at those constructs of twisted steel and concrete without reflecting on better times.

Spoiler:
For being widely regarded as King of the Monsters because of how he easily topples over any competitors for the throne necessary, sometimes Godzilla wanted nothing but peace for a change. Fighting got a lot more tiring if he was forced to keep it up constantly after all. At the moment, he was taking a nice, relaxing stroll across the African Congo. Hiking in between two of the great mountains as the fog created a mysterious, yet simultaneous stunning sight.

He noticed there was a volcano not too far away, and judging by the left over volcanic flow that gently flew across the breeze, it might’ve erupted about a good two days ago. Strange, considering this one in particular was mostly dormant.. Eh, whatever, didn’t bother him any.

This was bothering another particular monster though. Mostly because of the fact he was no longer welcome there, chased out by a bigger predator that had suddenly arrived through a portal in the sky. He could only guess that it was kicked out of.. Wherever it originally was, and had to find some other home to stay of course. That was one thing though, it being his home, passed down through generations of his family no less, was another entirely.

But he couldn’t get that thing out alone. He needed to get help.

Somebody else was close by, perhaps he could convince it to be his ally..

Almost right on cue, Godzilla felt a presence beginning to come towards him. A sudden orange streak of what looked to be lava soaring off of a winged monsters, well, wings were beginning to come into view. On instinct, his dorsal plates lit up blue, his mouth opened wide, and just when Rodan was about to ask this being for help, the atomic ray suddenly crashed straight into his stomach, sending him down yelping as he skidded across the dirt and trees, finally crashing into the mountainous rock.

Godzilla went over and picked up the surprisingly small being, flipping him over.. Before his eyes widened in surprise. He almost looked exactly like the Rodan he knew back on Monsterland. Just his skin was more like rock than scales. And the fact he was also way smaller.

The small fiery pteranodon suddenly shot back up from his daze, looking Godzilla straight in the eye. Godzilla also looked somewhat similar, as he remembered some similar spiked, biped being way back, millions of years ago, but at the moment, that wasn’t important.

He began to talk to Godzilla, and told him everything. The dragon that came out of the sky portal, how he wandered into Rodan’s volcano, woke him up, stole his home, and now found himself pathetically begging a stranger for help.

Albeit still upset that his vacation was pretty much ruined, Godzilla took up Rodan’s offer. All that was needed now was to reach the volcano and find the beast’s new lair.

Spoiler:
Scotland
9:00 A.M.

The restaurant was brimming with life once more. The sun’s morning rays shone through the windows to warm the interior of the charmingly quaint building, bathing all those who had come here to dine in its heat. A most mouth-watering aroma drifted in the atmosphere as the cooks and chefs did their work, adding to the pleasantry of the old restaurant. Breakfast was being served, and stomachs who hadn’t yet been sated were rumbling more than ever just by the mere scent of what they were inevitably about to gorge on. Those who had just begun their meal were seemingly all but satisfied just by a mere small bite of the meals they had ordered; such was the incredible taste.

Even those who were dead set on completing their personal goals could hardly wait to at least take a moment to gorge on their oncoming breakfast. Sitting just next to the window that offered the best view of the outside world, a man known as Shin Hayata took a moment to smile merrily as he finished telling one of the waiters what he would like for breakfast today, the waiter then asking him what he would wish to drink.

“Just water is fine, thank you,” he politely replied with a slight bow of his head, moments before the waiter walked away.

Shin turned back to the window, staring out at the revered Loch Ness for which this land was so famous. Such beauty. Such shimmering, ancient, incomparable beauty stretching out for miles and miles; an aquatic gem surrounded in of itself by a beauty of a different kind. Trees, grass and mountains that towered in the distance, a serenity that was older than the human race itself. What a heavenly place to call home.

And yet, despite its beauty, the famous Loch was the very reason why he was here. There was an important mission he had to attend to, a task needing to be done. That beautiful body of water had recently been subject to an abundance of mysterious sightings over the past two months; tourists and citizens alike, from single to in large groups, have reported seeing something moving about in the Loch. Something gigantic, something alive. Many believed that what they saw was none other than the fabled Loch Ness Monster, or “Nessie,” the elusive cryptid said to have inhabited this Loch for hundreds upon hundreds of years. Such a legendary entity had already been responsible for quite the rise in tourism for decades; but this time there was a hitch, one that caught the attention of much… … …higher figures in the world, such as himself.

Some individuals who had seen the strange entity strongly claimed that the beast responsible for all the sightings was not the fabled cryptid, but something else. Something bigger.

And such claims were gradually mounting by the day.

It was this news that had seized the attention of the Science Special Search-Party, or The Science Patrol for short. For such news pointed one big finger at a very plausible answer to all these claims: a new Kaiju. Yet another goliath that had crawled out of the woodwork, one capable of causing great destruction and casualties should it be provoked or tampered with by the wrong hands. Should such circumstances come to fruition as feared, then it would have to be stopped. One way or another.

Shin Hayata lightly shook his head. It would depend entirely on what the Kaiju was and where it came from that determined how it should be stopped. From the beginning it had dawned on Shin that not every Kaiju was evil or even malevolent in nature; hell, he didn’t yet even know the identity of this newfound entity yet. For example, if the creature that was being spotted by the civilians was indeed the actual Loch Ness Monster, then that means it has been living here peacefully for eons, all but undisturbed by human activity. It would be both a great tragedy and an unnecessary act of violence to destroy such an animal. If the creature turned out to be not quite as much a menace as initially thought, then Shin was certain that a peaceful solution would be found to the problem.

Shin looked about through the restaurant, taking a moment to gaze upon the flourishing civilians around him, all of them entirely oblivious to the potential of a much bigger problem at hand that just a mere boom in mysterious cryptid sightings. Deep down Shin hoped that most of the rumors were true, that what people were seeing really was just another rare phenomenon of nature and not some monstrous aberration beyond mankind’s understanding. These people didn’t deserve to be caught in the crossfire of a looming conflict they didn’t even know existed—if there was even one to begin with.

As Shin looked up, he noticed the television just up ahead, and the news bulletin of the day. He couldn’t quite hear what the reporters were saying, but it was not their words that caught his interest; it was the subject of the bulletin itself. A fresh video had been captured by a fisherman out in the middle of the Loch, another sighting of the supposed “monster” that had been swimming through the Loch. The footage was the most recent yet, shot barely an hour ago. His eyes narrowing slightly, Shin Hayata watched with great interest as the video footage began.

The moment the video started, there was already something on-frame. Like many alleged “sightings” of the Loch Ness Monster, the footage showed a lump of skin protruding from the water’s surface, the rest of the animal unseen. As Shin Hayata looked closer, he noticed that the hump was far thinner than most photos and videos of “Nessie”—too thin to be a back. Perhaps it was part of a tail? And the footage was shot very far away from the entity, and yet it still looked big on the screen. For it to appear that big from being shot at a distance, it must be huge!

Furthermore, he noticed another major difference: even from being shot far away, the video footage was clear as day when distinguishing the entity’s skin. It was not smooth like most sightings, but rough and rugged in texture, and from the looks of it a muddy brown color. Almost like tree bark.

Shin continued to stare at the footage. Was this all the video had to offer-?

Before he could finish his train of thought, he suddenly widened his eyes in shock when the appendage lifted high out of the water, revealing its true gigantic size. Shin nearly gasped at the sight. It WAS a tail! And then, almost as quickly as it appeared, the ‘tail’ smashed back down into the water in a massive splash, disappearing into the depths of the water while sending large ripples and waves towards the boat of which the fisherman shot the video upon. A good thirty seconds passed before the footage finally ended, but Shin found such a tactic wise. You never know when such an occasion might repeat itself.

The man kept his eyes on the TV screen, watching as they proceeded to re-play the footage, at one point even in slow motion. Looking at that tail again, he couldn’t help but wonder. Part of him felt that tail looked familiar, like he had seen it somewhere before. Perhaps they weren’t dealing with something new? Maybe they were dealing with an opponent from the past, one that he would recognize once he saw it in full?

Suddenly, Shin turned his attention away from the television when the waiter returned with the glass of water he had ordered—and the breakfast he couldn’t wait to dine on.

“Here’s your drink,” the man stated as he set the glass down on the table, “and here’s your breakfast.”

Shin smiled politely once more. “I could smell it from here!”

As he thanked the waiter and set down to dine, Shin Hayata internally hoped that the rest of his beloved crew had gotten to the bottom of things—especially hoping that their interview with a local “Monster Professor” went well, all things considered. The man was dismissed by many as a typical crazy old loner who possessed an obsession with dinosaurs, and probably wasn’t wouldn’t be too happy with the idea of visitors when his reputation in the public’s eye was as such. And even if he was nowhere near as crazy as the public assumed him to be, it would be most unpleasant if his soon-to-be visitors came off as rude and were shut out before a discussion could even begin.

Shin shook the thought off. He knew his cremates better than anyone; they would make no such mistakes. And like him, they knew that they couldn’t afford to. For out of every viable source of information in the vicinity, the professor was the best lead they had.

Spoiler:
Colossal legs tread through a broken metropolis, reducing the structures of man to countless shards of glass and steel. A tail ending in a wicked pincer waved through the air behind it, lazily shattering a row of windows as it scraped a building.

On any other day, its yellow eyes would behold as it wreaked endless havoc and destroyed all in its path, rejoicing in wanton death and carnage. But right now, the dark purple and crimson nightmare was focused. Its malevolent gaze was upon the shimmering crater in the center of what mankind had named New York City, the dent in the earth lined with alien crystal. The same gemstones that currently protruded out of the ground in clusters all across the abandoned settlement, humming with cosmic radiation.

The world was infected with these crystals like a cancer, asteroids falling upon the Earth and releasing the seeds of these constructs. Cities were afflicted with freakish, unnatural weather, kaiju were awakened en masse and put into frenzies, and disasters of even stranger and grander proportions continued wracking up. The apocalypse was here, the end of days finally arrived.

Yet in New York, eerie silence was all there was. Destoroyah had been reveling in the madness like a looter in a hurricane, making an awful situation even worse just to satiate its foul desires. But now the spawn of the Oxygen Destroyer found itself drawn to something here, something in that shining crater where one of the asteroids had directly impacted.

A mist that poisoned the air was exhaled between needle-like teeth as the demonic colossus reached the crater’s rim. A circular array of crystals was erected around the very nadir of the indent, which shifted rhythmically back and forth. Destoroyah stared, transfixed. There was something here, something unseen yet very much present.

Energy crackled across Destoroyah’s head crest, before the Precambrian menace opened its maw and unleashed a ray of violet energy. The Oxygen Destroyer Ray tore the crystals apart, sending cascades of glittering dust falling to the ground. A gash was carved into the ground, releasing a brilliant luminance from within. Destoroyah found itself staring once more, awed.

Suddenly, the light intensified greatly, making the demon stumble back a step. The brilliance began to swirl, taking on numerous colors to form a twisting kaleidoscope. The crack in the earth widened, a dark shape arising from it.

Destoroyah snarled as it recognized the shape of Godzilla, but the fiend could also tell something was off. Crystals protruded from this one’s shoulders and ran down its back instead of the bone spines of the monster king. An immensely long tail trailed behind it, ending in a wicked mace. Finally, the portal’s shine faded, revealing the being in full, an orange crown on his head. Piercing red eyes met the Precambrian beast’s own.

SpaceGodzilla announced his new found freedom with a triumphant shriek, his crystals glowing brightly. All he had needed was another boost of energy to finally form the portal to claw his way into the realm he had once tried to conquer. And now, here he was, ready to enact his vengeance. All would weep as he ascended to the divinity he deserved, becoming this universe’s overlord.

A growl before him drew him out of his stupor, turning his gaze on the one who had freed him. Destoroyah tilted its head, letting loose another hiss. The cosmic saurian called out, congratulating the demon for releasing him. Another roar, this time promising splendid rewards as his servant.

The Oxygen Destroyer’s child did not hesitate for a moment to reject the offer.

Destoroyah flew forth with the beat of its demonic wings, tackling SpaceGodzilla out of the air. The crystal tyrant roared in shock as he smashed into the wall of the crater, the gemstone ground cracking beneath their combined bulk. The demon of a bygone age shrieked madly as it clawed at its foe’s chest, ripping away scales and tearing skin. SpaceGodzilla cried out in wrath, before shoving out with his arms. His crystals flashed, the limbs sparking with conducted energy as they hit Destoroyah’s chest, causing miniature explosions. This only made the antithesis of life more hateful, prompting a punch across the hybrid’s face, tearing open bleeding grooves.

SpaceGodzilla’s crystals hummed with emerald energy, before ensnaring his attacker with the Gravity Tornado, lifting Destoroyah off of him and into the air. He rose as well, snarling bitterly. This savage did not deserve the honor of having freed this cosmos’ king. Death is all it would recieve, the first victim of a rampage that would extinguish the stars in blood.

Even frozen in place by telekinetic power, the nightmarish crustacean’s expression was one of endless hate and bloodlust. Such delusions of grandeur this one had, thinking it was anything other than another life to be snuffed out. Destoroyah would take a particular pleasure in seeing the crystal tyrant’s expression twist in despair and agony.

Spoiler:
Torrential rainfall pounded against the ruthless waves, churning riptides in their wake. In this place, there was no light, for a perpetual storm raged across the endless sky. Blotted darkness cast its shadow, reaching to the great horizon. Erratic lightning struck the violent ocean, acting as the only illuminating source in this treacherous void no sane man would travel.

Howling winds shrieked at an untapped frequency, a deafening wail no mortal earth-dweller could hear. Yet in spite of the fearsome gale, an ethereal light brimmed in the depths of the storm. Alluring blue hues gestated above the vast ocean, warping the space around it. It tore apart at the seams, revealing an infinite pool of unstable reality. Contrasting the golden hued bolts emitted from the storm clouds, the portal ripped apart with sky blue electricity and emanated its own artificial cloud. Pulsating with jubilation, a wrathful beast was soon to emerge.

Swooping in from the other side of the wormhole, a ferocious wyvern spread its wings out in the presence of the raging wind. Turbulence proved to be cumbersome for the dragon, but its skill and maneuverability could perform optimally in such harsh conditions. Several flaps of its mighty wings fought against the grazing wind, traversing the expansive skies. The wyvern’s natural senses guided it through this unfamiliar territory, following the swirling path of the clouds. Destructive hurricanes such as these held a natural-born pattern, one that required a skilled eye to notice. Using this, the wretched serpent navitaged onward.

As it presumed, the raging storm died down the closer it approached the brimming veil. Certainly, the sun had longed since dipped behind the horizon, for the sheet of light was illuminated by the rays of moonlight. When the vicious dragon tore through the layer of rainfall, what it found was nothing short of a beauty that remained undefiled by foreigners. The winged serpent slowed to a steady flight, basking in the sight of the mysterious island.

Moonlight shone upon the natural beauty of Skull Island, with jutting rock formations, steep mountains, and canyons alike. The shining gleam from the foliage rustled with the nocturnal animals that roamed the night, yet it remained relatively undisturbed. Above the highest peaks, glistening lights of wonder descended from the skies, teeming with a spiritual presence. The aurora borealis gave the island an alien green hue, further complimenting its majesty.

Primal slits locked onto a vaguely familiar shape that caught its attention. A village, and at its heart a smoldering fire from a ritual long passed, which led to the sight of an axe. The spiked blade was embedded into the ground, the calcified hilt reaching for the sky. The select few natives stood in prayerful silence as the rest slept comfortably for the day to come.

At the perimeter stood an erect wall of protruding spikes, soaked in bloodied ichor. In the darkness of the night, lizard-like goblins rammed their lithe bodies against the wooden pikes, all in the vain attempt to satisfy their hypervoristic appetites. What a disgusting view.

Furrowing its brow, the draconic beast’s maw fermented an orange blaze…

In honor of monkey month......
Spoiler:
Cold. It was the cold he noticed first.

Cold was not something new to him. The depths of lakes that he had plunged his fist into to catch fish had brought cold, as well as the winds of the peak of mountains. This was different though. The very air seemed to have never held any warmth, not of the sun or of rains bringing humidity. It made him shiver, tensing his fists and goosebumps to form in his fur.

Eventually, the great ape opened his bleary eyes as he pulled himself up from the ground. He attempted to stand straight but was pulled down causing him to glance down at his arms. Chains of metal remained trapped around his wrists. He snorted and began to pull them, attempting to free himself. Despite all of the king’s great strength, they would not budge. He tugged and tugged, and yet he stayed! Rage began to build up within him and he bellowed in anger. A roar that shook the very concrete that surrounded him.

A low whistle echoed after that. The mighty simian looked up, where he made out lights near the top of the concrete structure, with the smallest shape of a man blocking one of the small window struts. He roared and ran forward to grab the human, sensing he was responsible for his plight, before the then forgotten chains snapped back. He crashed to the floor upon his back, with a groan. The shadowy man laughed.

“You getting feisty, ain’t ya? Don’t worry, we should be starting riiiiiiight,”

A pair of neon lights suddenly bathed the concrete cage in green.

“Bingo.”

A slow grind began, one unlike anything he had felt before. The very structure was moving. The king roared and pulled himself up, bellowing at whatever strange force was causing this. The higher he got, he saw the flash of bright lights and heard the roars of fellow creatures, answering his own. Soon, the structure slowed and eventually came to a rest, sitting next to a metal door. He was soon aware of three things: a loud raucous sound, a subtle click which followed the relief of the chains finally snapping off, and above all, a voice that echoed.

“Ladies and gentlemen! We’ve got a real treat for you tonight, something this little club has never had before. All the way from Mondo Island, the untamable! The powerful! The wondrous! Kinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng Kong!”

The door slid back with a clank and Kong quickly had to cover his face as a blinding light and a cacophony of yells overwhelmed his senses. Eventually, the giant stumbled out. Kong looked around. He was standing in a jungle but not a normal one. The sand was too bright, the trees too straight, and it was too small. He could cross it in only a few steps. Not only that but it was flanked by massive metal walls, each holding box like structures in which he could make out cheering humans flanked by glass. He snarled. Not freedom. Another cage. Kong bellowed and ran forward, easily yanking one of the false trees out of the ground and slamming it into one of the walls.

The crowd in the offending wall gasped and pointed, their fun spoiled by their captor’s resistance. Kong whacked the plastic tree against the barrier as hard as he could until it snapped, at which point, he used his own fists to pummel the wall. The crowd began to scream at the primal beast’s rampage, some even fleeing from their hard won seats. Suddenly, a small hatch opened and a beam of energy zapped out of a turret, causing Kong to howl and jump back. The crowd slowly calmed as Kong rubbed his palms, smoke burning his nostrils. Looks like he couldn’t crash his way out.

The announcer laughed. “Sorry, folks. Seems he’s a bit excited to get started. So let’s not keep him waiting, right?!?!”

The crowd, easily reassured in their mostly inebriated states, cheered in response.

“Alright! In this corner, comes a terror from the East! He trampled Tokyo, he terrorized Thailand, he bit Bangladesh, and he hurt Hawaii! But now, Mr. Spigel and his associates have him here to test his crown against one of the kings of all kaiju! Ladies and gentleman, we give youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu……..King Cobra!”

King Kong turned and snarled. Now that the unnaturally loud human had stopped, his ears picked up the sound of squeaking metal, the same sound that had precluded his arrival. On the other side of the arena, the door opened and a lithe shape quickly slithered out. The massive serpent raised itself up, it’s piercing yellow eyes locking with the audience. King Cobra hissed and spread his hood, blue and maroon combining to give him a truly intimidating profile.

Kong didn’t care though. He’d killed serpents everyday on Mondo. What’s one more? He roared causing the cobra to snap back and turn the threat display on him. Kong slammed his fists upon the ground, before roaring with everything he had, causing the entire arena to shake and the crowd to go silent. The two royal monsters locked eyes.

Spoiler:
Odo Island was in chaos.

After years of utter silence, their dreaded god Godzilla had returned. As the haunting sound of the bell echoed, the villagers stamped towards the shelters on the beach. In the chaos, a young man tried to help his grandfather run, holding him by one arm while telling him to move as fast as he could. He was so concerned with escaping, he missed where he was going, crashing to the ground. He pulled himself up, as his grandfather now took his chance to beg him to move, blinking sweat and dirt out of his eyes. Anything further was stopped when a metallic hellish wail broke the air. The two men looked up to the hill that overlooked their village. There, the demon stood. It was almost a 1:1 of the one that the boy had seen plastered in all the history books, perhaps only slightly slimmer. The kaiju turned it’s beady eyes down, almost as if it was looking directly at them, as it let out another howl. The boy hugged his grandfather and closed his eyes, waiting for his demise. The seconds seemed like hours as he waited still. Eventually, after such a large amount of time, he dared a glance. Godzilla stood immobile, his head now intensely focused on the sky. The boy followed the beast’s gaze, soon finding the entire crowd focused upon the sky above the village center.

Floating in the sky was a metallic cylinder. It hung in the sky, almost as if it was examining the species before it. The boy turned to his grandfather, hoping for him to give an explanation but the old man simply shook his head and gestured they should keep moving. They hobbled over, going with some of the crowd, though most just stood hypnotized. The boy looked at those he knew, terrified to think what lay beyond that cold chrome exterior. On the inside of the ship, minds pulsed. They had found him. After all these years, Godzilla was once again in their grasp. Now, they would be complete. The ship soon opened up and a blinding light shot out. A gooey mass formed. Slowly, it stretched and molded, becoming a new form. The spell broke and the crowd began to run screaming once more. The creature that eventually formed was hideous, a bizarre amalgamation. Leathery skin covered it’s body, misshapen like a child’s unfinished clay figure. Massive hands ending in long fingers stretched themselves out then twitched in anticipation. Stumpy legs trepidatiously then firmly stood themselves on the Earth. Finally, a head like a distorted viper looked up, amber eyes glinting and it’s mouth shaping itself into an evil grin. Orga, the ancient alien, slammed it’s fists into the ground and roared at it’s long sought desire...

Since we recently added the Visitor, and this won't be featured for a year or two, figure I'd make my take on the character known. So here is a bit of a Visitor match I wrote:
Spoiler:
Monster X's Enclosure, Planet X - 2 Months Prior to the Xilien Invasion of New York

Monster X sat patiently beneath the small, rectangular viewing port into his monstrous enclosure, his long claws digging into his armored thighs. Surely the Keizer would bring him his challenge soon. He was no stranger to waiting, to long periods of dormancy between his creators' so called tests but on the eve of satisfying conflict, the seemingly endless passage of time tested even his pat-

A violent metal clang reverberated throughout the pitch dark void. Monster X opened his crimson eyes, unleashing a burst of superheated steam from his nostrils.

It was about time.

The metallic wall separating Monster X’s enclosure from the new challenger reverberated from multiple strikes. Vicious snarling followed the repetitive beating before the wall began to slide open. Within the cover of darkness, Monster X heard his challenger pry open the door faster than its intended opening speed. It screeched in horror, scraping the floor with its claws and stomping its feet upon his metal floor.

Did it always cause such chaos? Monster X pushed the thought to the back of its twisted mind, for now was not the time to think, but to live. In the midst of his challenger's violent sounds, Monster X began to rise, stepping on the floor to push itself up merely for all his challenger's raucous behaviour to come to an end. Monster X peered upward, staring into the darkness for some sign, yet it remained as void of life as always. The warrior’s blood colored eyes narrowed and he rose to his full, imposing height. It seemed whatever he was fighting now knew it was not alone. With cautious steps, Monster X ventured away from the small beam of light and set out to find his contender.

Y looked into the enclosure, his body still trembling from the ruler who stood beside him. “Should we not activate the lights sir? Allow him to-”

“Of course not!” X looked on through the viewing wall, smirking as he watched Monster X vanish into the darkness. “Do you think I want him to win? He needs to prove his worth to me. Either he’ll die pathetically in the dark, or he’ll fight with me on Earth. Either way, I still win, like always.”

Monster X peered through the darkness with vigilant intrigue. Even with his lack of sight, he knew his metallic home with meticulous precision after a millennia within its walls. He stood where his challenger entered his domain, but all was silent. No raucous sounds. No claws scraping across the floor. Not even the slight tremors of his enemies’ movement. All he could tell with his senses was that his opponent was close as a putrid odor filled the air.

Monster X took a step forward, the sole of his left foot stepping into a small pool of strange liquid causing him to halt his movement. The skeletal creature bent down, studying the viscous liquid. Denser than water with a similar odor which filled the air, it must have been left by-

A new droplet of the mysterious liquid struck Monster X’s right arm. Monster X paused a moment, his mind racing to the inevitable conclusion which surged a burst of adrenaline through his body. The skeletal warrior jumped backward through the darkness, sliding across the metal as eight separate impacts resounded through the enclosure where he once kneeled.

Even blind, Monster X gained an understanding of what he was up against. At least eight appendages, and three distinct sounds ensured three different types. His challenger also showed impressive agility by jumping off the ceiling to the floor in under a second which meant its next attack wouldn’t be long. The skeletal arms of Monster X formed an X in front of his body just in time to block the follow up tackle of his opponent. The sound of joints contorting meant another strike was on its way, but what angle? Monster X assumed his sides and placed his arms to deflect the strike merely for a three clawed arm to swipe upward, clipping the bottom of his jaw. An annoyed growl echoed from the warrior only for two spike-tipped objects to impale him in his left shoulder and abdomen.

Monster X recoiled, his eyes glowing gold in rage. He couldn’t guess any longer. He needed to see!

Rage morphed into power which flowed in a destructive spiral of energy from Monster X’s four eyes. Three Destroyed Thunder Beams illuminated the room, the first two attacks striking the metallic floor of the enclosure while the last clipped the unseen aggressor. A horrendous, bone chilling wail filled the room, and as small fires and smoke lit up the creature for a mere second, Monster X gazed upon his opponent.

Serrated teeth filled every space around the elongated jaws of the alien lifeform. Its head possessed no eyes, no ears, no nostrils, only spikes and teeth. Protruding from its back, four spider-like spiked limbs jutted outward from its spine while its three-fingered claws writhed in agony as its spiked tail slammed against the ground. The skin not smoking shined, a violet hue, interweaved with boney armor in the colors of cobalt and ivory all the way to its two-clawed extremities. All this detail vanished into the darkness and so did the creature as Monster X took a moment to catch his breath.

This Visitor of his domain used cunning, surprise, and an unusual array of deadly physical abilities. If not for the near obscurity, the events of the battle surely would be different, excluding of course its outcome, but that would come in time. The Visitor proved itself intriguing so with cautious anticipation, Monster X awaited the darkness to bare its fangs and claws once more.

*****

Monster X scanned the pitch black space which surrounded him on all sides. The Visitor existed somewhere in his domain, but where? It had been far too long since it last attacked. The beast was surely stalking him like mere prey, waiting for some type of sign or action. The thought triggered Monster X to tighten his claws in fury. This would not do, but how to lure it out?

Silent predator.

No eyes.

Precise movement within darkness.

Monster X softly lifted his left leg off the ground and leaned back. His right hand flexed open as if to catch an object before the skeletal beast slammed his leg down upon the metallic floor. A screech boomed, creating a deafening rattle which resonated within his den, almost silencing a near silent clink directly above the warrior.

Monster X’s eyes narrowed in vindication.

The skeletal arm of the titan thrust forward into the darkness, catching the head of the Visitor and slamming it down upon the metallic floor. Another rattle shook the room and light reappeared as Monster X unleashed a barrage of his signature weapon. A horrible screech bellowed from the Visitor as small flames coated its durable armor, illuminating the creature every so slightly.

Monster X backed away from the fallen beast and allowed it to stand unabated. Alit from the miniature flames coating its plated armor, Monster X witnessed an elongated maw part, revealing rows of serrated teeth which longed to sink into flesh. A bone-chilling cry followed, the spiked claws along the alien’s body flexing before the Visitor burst forward. Four arachnid like appendages shot forth only for Monster X to side-step the barely lit creature. The slight clang of Monster X’s footsteps immediately caused the alien’s to spin, the two arachnid-like legs of its left side slicing through the air until they struck white armor. White-plates upon his shoulder withstood the blow, but as the Visitor followed up with a slash of its right, elongated finger-claws upon the lower part of Monster X’s left arm, the silent predator struck softer, black flesh. Feeling the warmth of his prey’s blood, the Visitor lunged forth with a blood curdling roar.

The top of Monster X’s body dropped with shocking speed as he evaded the bite, but not without preparing for his counter as he retracted his left leg. The appendage then launched swiftly with precision and struck the abdomen of the predator, cracking a variety of internal bones and launching the Visitor away with a violent series of impacts upon the metallic floor. Monster slowly returned to a full upright position upon hearing the sounds of his enemies’ folly end in the darkness, wiping the meager blood his enemy was able to draw off the armor coating his left arm. The vindication which once brought fire to the eyes of the alien warrior began to settle and with it, Monster X’s momentary rush of excitement soon too met its harsh meeting with reality. It seemed the challenge was not as enticing as promised with its attack and retreat style. How… disappointing.

Monster X’s body slouched forward, crimson eyes seemingly becoming dull. As the skeletal creature awaited the Visitor to charge him once more, a vibrant pink hue swelled above him.

Monster X’s lust for combat paused after witnessing such hue unlike any he’d seen in his existence. Enticed eyes of the warrior looked upon the pink source of light only to discover the color being emitted from the Visitor’s forehead. Crimson eyes dilated, realizing the innate danger, but the warrior’s reaction proved far too slow.

Energized soundwaves condensed into a pinkish burst erupted from the Visitor’s cranium and slammed into Monster X causing him to howl in immense agony. The predator’s Brainspasm proved ineffectual in scorching the fighter’s white armor or piercing through black flesh, but beneath alien skin, every vein and tendon felt as if all were simultaneously burned raw at once. Convulsions rocked the skeletal creature, forcing it to lower on all fours as he tried to push through the spasms of anguish coursing through its body but as three familiar sounds of eight limbs crashing on metal indicated to Monster X, time was not something he possessed.

Pure darkness consumed the void once more. Metal rang like a drum as the Visitor pounced upon the convulsing prey. With the warrior helpless on its back, the predator pinned Monster X’s arms with its clawed appendages and retracted its spider-like blades backward.

No longer would it wait. No longer could it wait. It was ravenous, voracious, gluttonous… hungry!

You can focus on it, and try to force it, but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you're patient, and you hold still, then maybe... Just maybe... It will come to you."

This is for a match that involves a certain someone from the new movie, so obviously don’t click this if you haven’t seen the movie yet.
Spoiler:
Fire rushed through packed streets, incinerating people by the hundreds as concrete and steel melted. A burning sphere of plasma slammed into a building, blasting a gaping hole into the structure and soon sending it crumbling down. Screams of terror rose en masse, only to be silenced by the booming roar of a colossus.

Cloaked in sharp scales of dark bluish-green, muscular arms reached out and grasped a brown, reptilian avian. The feral beast writhed and snapped madly with its jaws, unphased by the burns coating its form, as it was lifted high and met the emerald eyes of its destroyer. A turtle-like head with massive tusks jutting forth from the lower jaw let a rumbling growl loose from the throat. The Gyaos opened wide, letting a thin, yellow streak fire from its maw, only for it to be jerked down suddenly. The sonic ray struck the shell coating its foe’s abdomen, a colossal construct of spiky plates which were utterly unphased by the attack.

Gamera’s own jaws clamped down onto the Gyaos’ throat, rending flesh and crunching bone with one move. The fiend died in an instant, going limp.

The guardian hurled the corpse away, sending it careening into a burning building. The structure collapsed from the additional weight, igniting further and becoming a blazing pyre to cremate the wicked child of a lost civilization’s sin.

Roaring mightily to the smoke-filled heavens, Gamera took off into the skies, his legs sinking into his shell and being replaced with blazing jets.

***

A young man of Japanese descent watched this unfold on a massive screen, the brightest light in the dimly lit chamber. He turned his head, questioning a nearby man. It was an older man, in his 50s or 60s.

“So, this was 25 years ago?”

“Yes, my friend.” He replied.

“And the death toll?”

“Thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, Mister Serizawa.”

Ren Serizawa turned his head to another monitor, showing cheering crowds surrounding Gamera, who stood victorious over another colossus, his foot pressed on the dead kaiju’s chest.

“And this?”

“Of course. Ten years is all it takes to forget a mass murder.” He got to his feet suddenly, sending the chair rolling away as he continued to rant. “I’m sure my dear old man wouldn’t have even taken that long to start going on and on about how wonderful Gamera is, and how we need to trust that he knows what he’s doing in his fight against the Gyaos as he crushes—“

The older man coughed awkwardly.

Ren took a deep breath. “I apologize, Mr. Simmons,” he sat back down on a different seat, taking a moment to readjust. “But it is clear that Gamera is too much of a threat to keep alive, just like all of these titans are at the end of the day.”

“So are you suggesting that he shall be our first target?”

“Of course, especially with the Gyaos making a return. He will once again be causing havoc in his desire to destroy them, and we cannot let that happen!”

Walter Simmons got to his feet, then walked over to a nearby liquor cabinet. Opening it and grabbing a bottle of whiskey, he turned back towards his chief engineer. “I agree fully. I had friends in Japan around that time, when Gamera’s war with the Gyaos reached a fever pitch.” Popping the lid off of the bottle and pouring its content into a glass, he continued. “I do not want anyone to have to deal with that terror again.”

Ren looked towards the glass wall of the room, looking out to see their weapon to free humankind of its colossal oppressors.

Built in the image of the Alpha Titan, a steel colossus designed to kill and kill until all Titans were feasts for the vultures. Protrusions ending in glowing lights of red ran down its ridged back, ending at the tip of a lengthy tail which bore spikes. Bulky arms ending in massive claws hung by its sides, near the relatively thin yet still powerful legs that supported the artificial beast.

Mechagodzilla.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Simmons snapped Serizawa out of his trance with those words.

“Yes. It is.” The prodigy replied calmly and evenly.

The CEO took a drink of his alcohol. “And it is because of you, my friend. Humanity will be freed of its bestial gods by yours and my genius.”

Spoiler:
Salzburg, Austria

Godzilla growled at the hideous monstrosities before him with a level of hatred he hadn’t felt in at least twelve thousand years. He had faced many foes in the past two hundred and fifty million-plus years of his life, of a wide array of shapes and sizes. Most had originated from the planet he protected so ruthlessly, some emerged from the depths of space, a select few even crawled forth from occasional barriers between separate dimensions. Some were large, so large they dwarfed even the likes of him and put his mighty strength and fighting prowess to the ultimate test. Some were small but lithe and agile, with quick reflexes that made him work his absolute hardest to learn their patterns and land a meaningful blow.

But what the Monster King faced right now, the repugnant entities that stood in front of him, were unlike anything he had ever faced before.

Baring his tyrannosaur teeth, Godzilla hissed a growling sneer at the horrid creatures that stared back at him with bulbous eyes red as transparent ruby. The demons were bipedal in stance, with arthropodic exoskeletons and clawed appendages shaped like the Grim Reaper’s scythe. Two chelicerae lined with teeth twitched and drooled like a spider’s fangs on each of their maws. They looked like what would happen if Anomalocaris eventually evolved into a humanoid race.

There were three of them… … …and then, there were three others that possessed major differences.

These three bore striking resemblances to creatures he had known past; one possessed a quadrupedal stance, gray elephantine hide and multi-limbed appendages of a female MUTO, a sight that made Godzilla’s skin crawl more than it should. A second bore striking orange-and-black wings, a crown of golden horns sitting atop its stocky head. A black, chitinous exoskeleton of spiky armor covered its body, betraying its relation to the guardian Battra. The third possessed an armored, dragon-like head and leathery wings tipped with clawed points. Four insectoid arms stuck out from its torso, while its claws ended in snapping pincers. The beast shrieked a warped version of Megaguirus’ screeching cry, pawing the ground in a clear display of aggression.

Six foes. No allies. It was six against one, and nothing else to it. He was waging a solo war against foes he was a complete stranger to, with nobody else to back him up. At this, Godzilla merely snorted.

Well, what else was new?

A low rumble echoed through the bowels of the atomic dinosaur as he gathered all the air he could in his massive lungs, straightening himself into a mighty combat posture, readying himself for battle. His razor-sharp spines glinted with radioactive light, an intimidation display to inform his foes of the resistance they were to face. Muscles flexed and bones cracked into place, the King of the Monsters rattled the auditory field for a radius of three miles with his kingly roar, screaming in the face of doom without even a hint of fear. Instead, it conveyed a meaning of the exact opposite.

Come at me!

Rearing their scythe limbs to the heavens like bloodthirsty berserkers, the Trilopods screamed their horrendous alien war cries in response to the Monster King’s inevitable advance. He certainly had quite the spirit—but such a trait would mean nothing in the end.

All it meant was that he would die braver than most.

Another preview for my upcoming Gamera vs. Hedorah Round 2
Spoiler:
“Don’t say such bullshit!” Daiki yelled out at his friend as they ran down the drenched streets.

“Why would I lie about something like this? The last time something like this happened our parents were kids!” the other hollered out excitedly, wanting his friend to witness what he had seen just minutes before, as he struggled to keep his glasses from falling.

“I hope you’re not wasting my time again,” sighed Giichi as he rubbed his messy hair, trying to keep it in place.

They bolted in the alleyway as the more eager of the two shouted while pointing out deeper into the channel, “Look. Over there!”

“What are you talking about, there’s nothing!” yelled Giichi as he looked up and saw nothing but drops of rain descending from the dark storm clouds above them.

“Use your eyes, man!” gleefully shouted out Daiki. The two glued then their eyes up at the sky, nearly straining them as they saw a giant body of water materialize above them. Small rays of light shined through, immediately entrancing them with its beauty. However, something unnatural was swimming in it, almost as if it was seemingly basking in it.

“What’s that?” stuttered Giichi, his whole body shaking at what just appeared before them.

The being paused as it shifted its whole body around, now glaring at the two witnesses below it. Its piercing red eyes angered and yet curious as to why they would show up and observe it. A part of it wanted to stay and enjoy this newfound body of water, but the other wanted to feed. However, the monster wasn’t given a choice in the matter as the body of water exploded.

The kids screamed as the pool-sized body of water splashed down upon them. Their bodies were completely absorbed by the water for a mere few seconds before immediately subsiding to the ground. The two took a moment to recompose of themselves, breathing rapidly, hoping this strange event would be over with.

A gurgle was then heard.

The two looked up to see sludge dripping to the ground, its black, slippery matter splashing upon their shoes. As their eyes ascended upwards at the culprit, they saw a being straight up from a horror movie, something that should, in no way, shape or form exist. The being stood nearly twice their height, as it hunched over, observing them. They stood in horror as the greyish black being moved its body unnaturally, with a swishing noise that could elicit chills from even the bravest of men.

Nothing could prepare them for what came next.

With a loud gurgle, the anomaly leapt forward at Daiki, completely knocking him to the ground. The teenager let out of a muffled scream as his whole felt like it was burning. His skin sizzling away as his very insides were being boiled. Giichi, feeling a modicum of resurgence of composure coming back to him, reached forward for his friend’s uncovered arm. He grabbed a hold of his arm and with every ounce of strength he had, he was able to feel himself pulling his dear friend out.

Giichi collapsed on his rear, taking a moment to collect himself. With a few deep breaths from the impressive feat of strength he had to pull, his mind drifted to his friend. To make sure everything was okay, he opened his eyes to check on his wounded friend.

He let out a bone chilling scream as he witnessed Daiki’s heavily mutilated body before him! The skin on his upper body was completely gone, as it poured onto the wet asphalt, giving it a peach and crimson red colored paint job. Muscle and bone were all that’s left, but even then, they began to melt away as steam flowed up from the body. Daiki’s unaffected arm soon broke away as the rest of the body separated itself due to his body being doused in acid. Lastly, Giichi wasn’t even successful in pulling out his friend’s whole body. His bottom half was completely gone!

Entrails hung out and in some cases, were even leaking out. Giichi quivered his lips, horrified that he unintentionally helped that monster rip his friend in two. He snapped his head over to his friend’s head as his joyful look was history. Now, it was just muscle with his glasses seared directly above his eyes.

A gurgle of laughter was heard once more as Giichi turned his head over to the beast standing above him. It took a step towards him, readying to absorb its prey, however his prey wasn’t entirely helpless, he got up on his feet and began to bolt. Giichi didn’t want to leave his friend behind, but it was of no use as his body was still in the process of decomposing. At the very least, he could find the authorities to put this abomination down.

He would make sure his friend would get avenged.(edited)

POP!

Giichi let out a banshee scream as he felt a sudden surge of pain in his feet, as if someone poured lava on them. He collapsed on his stomach, instantly turning over to see his shoes melting directly into his feet. Giichi unleashed a howl of pain as the small amount of acid was agonizing to his skin. His mind immediately drifted over to his friend’s fate and realized his feet would meet the same. Still, he had to escape, no matter the cost. Giichi flopped over on his stomach, pushing himself to try to crawl away, noticing he was nearly out of the cursed alleyway.

A sigh of relief overtook him, as he could get the help he desperately needed, but it was not meant to be. The anomaly hopped in front of him, part of its body splashing its contents all around the area.

Giichi’s fear overtook him once more with tears pouring out of his eyes. All he could do now was plead. “Please… please.. Don’t do this. Please….”

The being tilted its head slightly, seemingly taking its prey’s words into consideration. Its hands lowered down as the anomaly kept itself stationary. Giichi breathed a sigh of relief as if he mentally congratulated himself on talking his hunter down. He immediately began to veer off from the slimy being, crawling away towards his destination.

STOMP!

Giichi cried out once more as he felt the anomaly’s foot planting itself on his back. Immediately the back of his shirt melted away as the acidic sludge coated itself all over his back. A blood curled cry zoomed out of his mouth while the anomaly cackled in his suffering.

Even though the skrieks of agony were music to its ears, it couldn’t afford the chance of alerting others to its position. It had nearly been compromised several times and would not be in shape to fight off a whole army. It still had plenty of delicious food to devour.(edited)

With its arm extending out, it grabbed Giichi’s jaw, holding it in place as the sludge did all the work, melting the joints off. The beautiful screaming ceased immediately as it was replaced by gurgles while blood flooded out of his mouth.

Giichi’s only silver lining in this whole traumatic event was that he didn’t have to suffer for long. His consciousness fading while his eyes melted, their liquid remains dripping onto the wet ground.

The last thing he heard, however, was the gurgling laughter of his killer.
