Random Dinosaur Art
I didnt see a thread for this, though maybe I just missed it. And since this is the general thread, not the Godzilla specific thread, I figured it be ok. Showcase cool dinosaur art here. Retro, modern and scientifically accurate, whatever you want.
Ill start with this comparison I drew a while back for the paleontology reddit before they nuked it of paleoart.

My most wanted fight ever is Discord vs Bobobo-bo bo-bobo.
Godzilla has a regen like Wolverine, a skin like Luke Cage, a hero aura like Captain America, a strength like Hulk, an unstoppability like Juggernaut, an immortality like Deadpool.
There's a 'God' in Godzilla for a reason...

Interesting art style. I thought the big heads was just because that's how Hatzegopteryx was, but it looks like those abelisaurs also have big heads so Im guessing that is part of their style.

Ooh Ok! There's a lot of great paleo art out there. Is this just dino art or does all paleo art count?

Emiliano Troco's paleoart is absolutely gorgeous. Love how he blends the Zdenek Burian vibe with modern science.

Is it possible that Tarbosaurus bataar could be Tyrannosaurus bataar, as some authorities have claimed?Executive Hamster wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:48 pm I didnt see a thread for this, though maybe I just missed it. And could there be just one known genus and species (Tyrannosaurus rex) with two known subspecies (T. r. rex and T. r. bataar)?

Re: Random Dinosaur Art
This type of stuff is mostly subjective and hard to predict with Mesozoic fauna because of a lack of proper genetic material. While morphology is a useful indicator it's often deceptive too. In Tarbo's case there are good arguments to be made on both sides so honestly neither take is wrong. Personally I feel like the cranial differences don't necessarily mean it cannot be in the same genus, just look at Panthera.mikelcho wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 10:59 amIs it possible that Tarbosaurus bataar could be Tyrannosaurus bataar, as some authorities have claimed?Executive Hamster wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:48 pm I didnt see a thread for this, though maybe I just missed it. Re: Random Dinosaur Art
I am inclined towards Tyrannosaurus Bataar myself, but Im not a paleontologist. Ultimately though, its all arbitrary, the animal existed regardless of what we want to call it, so Id say just go with that if you want.

All paleoart is welcome. Perhaps the thread name is misleading but ah well.Tyrant_Lizard_King wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 3:36 am Ooh Ok! There's a lot of great paleo art out there. Is this just dino art or does all paleo art count?

Re: Random Dinosaur Art
I dig the perspective on the Megalodon one, plus the actual appearance- nice way of showcasing an animal similar to a GW in lifestyle but only distantly related. Also nice to see more art of it just vibing instead of constantly munching Whales lol.

Love that longhorn bison one. That's a criminally underappreciated animal.

In recent years, people have speculated that ceratopsians in general could've had omnivorous tendencies.Thatguy4683 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 5:59 pm

It’s definitely missing wings, in addition to facial feathers and a tail fan.Executive Hamster wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:05 pm Seems like that raptor is missing his wings, though its hard to tell.
