Raymond Briggs, the illustrator behind The Snowman children's book that famously got adapted into an animated short, has passed away. The short has been a tradition for me to watch every Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember, so now I've lost another part of my childhood.

R.I.P. Mr. Briggs

96 years old, beloved by almost the entire world, and having a family that loved her to pieces? It's incredibly sad that she's passed on, but she also lived a fantastic life.

I don’t know enough about the queen and I’ve heard mixed things about her, so I don’t really know how to feel about her passing.

I honestly don't know anything about her, either. I see her on magazine covers here and there, and that's about it. I feel bad about that now. I'll have to actually learn something about the royal family at some point, here.

Regardless, seventy years as a monarch is astounding. People have been born, lived their whole lives, grown old, and died during her reign. Incredible. RIP, Queen Elizabeth II.

Although I don’t support the institution she belonged to, I can respect anyone for living a life as long as hers. Rest In Peace Ms. Windsor.
