Unpopular Opinion: If you consciously decide to devote this much time and effort to tell a bunch of strangers from a country you're not even from that they're priveledged....then you yourself are priveledged.

But that's none of my business. *Sips iced tea*

Spoiler:
Ironic an Australian says America is shit when the Australian government has given itself carteblanche to openly invade the privacy of its citizens and persecute people who don't take the poke. All modern countries are a joke really, America included.
The Matrix Resurrections was pretty good and I liked it better than any previous Matrix movie.

Difference is I’m not the one complaining about how shit my country is and the ones that do are the Trumpian types. Ya’ll been bagging on those for years, right? Now, I’ve already had a talk with Maritonic about this so I think it’s best we leave it.

Fascism is a form Socialism and Marxist Socialism is Anti Semitism.

Fascism is a form Socialism
No it VERY MUCH is not.

The most famous fascist movement of all time CALLED itself a socialist party but it is by definition, not socialism.

From Merriam Webster dictionary (the most unbiased defintion possible)

Socialism: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

Fascism: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Anyone telling you fascism is Socialism doesn't deserve a place teaching politics

Now drop this and move on. All of you.

This has gone on long enough. Let's shift back to random unpopular opinions and stop with the politics for a bit.

Godzilla vs. Kong was a rather breezy watch for me. That movie flew by really fast (which I consider a positive).

I'm all for fast-paced movies but Godzilla vs. Kong was way too fast.

Should've been another 20 minutes at best.

I at least somewhat agree.

On another note, I think massive, ongoing cinematic series, like Star Wars or the MCU (to an extent) should stick to serialized streaming shows over feature films. It's a better format for longform storytelling, IMHO.

Chicken Little is a bad movie sure, but i don't think it's a fully UNWATCHABLE movie. I think it has just enough fun qualities to make it a bad, yet fun movie to sit through and laugh at.

Rewatched SSSS Gridman. And I really feel like it doesnt hold up to rewatches. I guess I was enamored by all the references to old mecha and toku shows that I didn’t see my issues with it the first time.

The characters are all super one note, especially rikka (who is just there for feet and thigh shots) and the attachment squad. The fights are also over in like a minute which makes them dwarfed by even the lengths of the fights in the showa Ultraman series.

Akane’s motivations are also children’s cartoon tier. She’s a mass murdering sociopath because she’s lonely? I’ve seen people call this “deep” which even upon my first watch I disagreed with but now even more so.

Also that hotsprings episode was just an excuse for fanservice and you can’t convince me otherwise.

Boba Fett should have survived RoTJ’s first act and then returned in the third as an obstacle for Han, Leia and Chewie to overcome on Endor. It would be more thematic and exciting, better fitting with Luke, Vader and Palpatine, as well as Lando and the Fleet dueling the Imperial Navy.

I like 3.0 + 1.0 more than End Of Evangelion.

What can I say, I like a conclusive story with a nice, happy ending and a little red bow on top more than Anno’s depressive episode visualized with random Christian imagery sprinkled on top.

That is not to say that EoE has no merit, of course. Just that 3.0+1.0 scratched a certain itch of mine that EoE just didn’t

I don’t view any of the three ends of Eva as better than one or another, nor for one to be more cannon than the other. I view 1+3 ending as “the good ending” while the original series ending and EoE are both bad, but in different ways.

The original television show is the human instrumentality project working, and Shinji giving into it. The same goes for EoE, but Shinji and Asuka alone are freed from it. I’ve heard different arguments going either way for either one.

I was just talking about this at work yesterday, the Rebuilds culminate in a fantastic story about coming out of your grief cocoon with the help of loved ones and your own chutzpah. In a way, that's what all Eva stories are about, right? But the way I look at it, they're all canon with eachother. NGE--->EoE--->RoE until the 'right' ending occurs.

Overall the first act of RotJ should connect more with events later in the movie.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.
