Ebay, my friends. Ebay.

Nearly every single figure in this photo alone is from Ebay, and not 1 cost me over $50.

Ebay auctions, specificley. I'd say the majority of those were won from auctions.

I'd say around 80% of my entire collection or so is from Ebay. Some were from a few little stores. My Monsterarts are from Hobby Search and Amazon, mostly.

Ebay and Amazon.

I got a few off Ebay (by few I mean hardly at all), fan places around the internet like Club Tokyo and Sheeronk, online stores, and KB Toys/K-mart.

Mostly ebay, though from time to time Amazon.

I think most if not all of the companies I used to buy from in the 90s are gone now.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

Use to be KB Toys, but they went outta business.

Now it's mainly Toys R Us

Then again, I've only ever bought Bandai America's stuff.

I've never touched a good ole soft vinyl figure or any of that good ridiculously overpriced stuff before.

I very much consider TFA to be half-assed. What a generic film which only fed on nostalgia, it brought nothing new to the table.
That's not true. C3PO had a red arm.

Local stores.

The comic city by my house sells Godzilla toys. And Toys R Us does, too..

I've seen a couple at anime cons as well.

Local-
Family Toy Warehouse (out of business now)
KB Toys (out of business now)
Kmart
Toys R Us
Comic shops
and G-fest too!

Godzilla stores-
Showcase Collectibles (my first Bandai figures...I miss that store!)
Clawmark Toys
Monsterland Toys

several others I can't think of off the top of my head

Online in general-
Ebay
Amazon
BBTS

Usually I try to buy from local Comic shops or online Godzilla stores because i like to help out these small businesses and the people are just like me and usually pretty nice so if i can give them my money i will.
Nothing as a kid was more exciting than ordering a Bandai Godzilla figure offline from one of the G-stores and waiting for that package!

EBay and Amazon are online places I look at after a particular toy is no longer available, but then the price is often inflated.

Good Online retailers are:

Otacute
Playmoya
Hobby Search
Hobbylink Japan

They are all very reliable.

Big Bad Toys is ok, as their prices are often higher than the others.

I have a few. I got them all online. And I don't really like the term "toy". They are collectibles, not play things. Well, you can play with them, but they are not like your average, everyday action figure.

I think that depends on what kind of figure you're talking about. I would certainly consider a standard Bandai vinyl figure a toy. X-Plus, not so much.

The thing about Godzilla figures is that they don't have many points of articulation. They aren't like the Spiderman action figure that I owned when I was 7. The Spidey figure had so many different poses and joints, so you could do basically ANYTHING with it. The Godzilla figures that I own are only mobile in a few places.
