Playmates: Godzilla/Kong

Haven't seen this done yet, but for those wondering, the Playmates 12" Godzilla 2004 IS a new sculpt. Or, at least, has new sculpt parts. The head, spines, and tail are all new sculpts. The face itself is a lot more accurate to 2004's movie design while the 12" Bandai is more akin to the poster art of the film.

I also have the PM 2004 Godzilla, and despite being made of that cheap hard plastic, I honestly like the figure and personally, I think it looks way better than the 12" BC 2004.

I can only seem to find the 12" Kong whenever I go to stores. No 6" figures or 12" Godzilla yet. I'll probably grab the big Godzilla since it looks pretty nice for what it is. Not sure about Kong.

Lol, that may be true, but I feel like it's good to praise people for a job well done. Sure it's not complex but it's still an improvement and it's nicely done.

I noticed something about the Playmates K:SI figs that have been released. Spoilers for those figure leaks from a few weeks ago. Basically, GVK spoilers.

I think these Kong figures are using the same molds as the GvK Kong figures. If you look at the hands you can see that one is closed as a fist but the other is open like it's supposed to hold something. If you saw the leaked images you can clearly see that Kong was holding a weapon. If anything, these SI figs have resculpted heads but I'm confident they are practically the same figures that were made the GvK.

I wouldn't read in to that. It's very common for toys to have one hand in a grip and the other a fist. The 18" Lanard Kong for example.

It is a big whoop, it is the little changes like that make it pop. It is a lot better.
