Geez, one really cool box from NECA and suddenly we're all so spoiled that we think this packaging sucks.

This is the Godzilla fandom, being spoiled and snooty is what we’re about But nevertheless, this is something of a downgrade from the amazing G62 box, but if it’s a studio marketing mandate, one can’t really argue. But yes, anything is better than those horrendous clamshells.

As much as packaging art can be admired almost like a collectible of its own, for me, I buy for the figures, so as long as the item inside comes out great and nothing broken and such, I don’t care if the package is a plain brown box or a DaVinci painting.

We all know how the conversation would go if the box was a work of art but all the figures came out with sloppy paint and bent spines.

I know packaging costs are a challenge, but the 24” HTT was a mess, highly prone to bent spines, and there’s still one on mine that no matter how many ways I try to heat it and cool it into place to look right, is still bent.

The box looks fine to me; we're just spoiled after seeing the '62 box. I, for one, am glad to see that the blister packs are, indeed, gone altogether.

It's supposed to be April/May now, but with no specific release date.

And I think Mothra and Rodan are supposed to be late May/June now, although I'm not entirely sure about this one.

Whenever NECA announces a product, the week before release, expect a month-2 month delay.

Mothra was due out in April, Godzilla at the end of March.


Now we're looking at Godzilla at the end of April and Mothra AFTER THE FILMS RELEASE (May 31st)
