Thats pretty rad. About how tall would you say it is?
A seller got a bunch of them and contacted me asking if I wanted em. He's giving me them for around $100 each, Ghidorah being $150 as apparently its rarer. He has a 94, Spacegodzilla, and Ghidorah, and at my request he's keeping his eyes open for a Destoroyah. I figured since the Heisei is my favorite series, these would be a good finale, since Im going to be slowing down my collecting to focus on other things.

This popped up in my eBay seller's store, and I managed to jump on it immediately to snag it. That being said, I know almost nothing about it, other than "this looks awesome, and I need it"

Looks to be a painted garage kit. I want to say Billiken but don’t quote me on that. Will agree, it’s a very cool sculpt.

Yeah I’d say that’s the Billiken kit based on the photos google turned up.

Whats up with this ridiculously expensive Bandai Godzilla 1984 I saw on ebay? $900 apparently.

It was released alongside a DVD reissue I believe. It’s supposedly very limited.

In 2008 (I believe) Toho release four DVD sets comprising the entire Godzilla series. Each set was accompanied by a reissued Bandai toy predominantly colored black, which included Godzilla 1954, Gigan, Space Godzilla and this 1984 Godzilla. While all 4 are pretty hard to find, the fact that the 84 Godzilla was only issued one other time in an expensive box set caused this particular figure to command pretty high prices when it turns up.

Not exactly a perfect fit for this thread: I know this is the Godzilla from the Mothra Kaiju Legends line. I was just wondering which suit this was. My guess would be 94, but I cant find any official confirmation.

I used to have this one. It's a more-or-less generic Heisei, but given the year of release (1998) and the features on the face I'd say it's the 1994 suit. This figure always struck me as being a hollow-vinyl remold of the Hyper Godzilla 1994/5 suit, found in that set's 1998 and 2000 assortments. There are a lot of similarities between them once you get past the bulkiness:

A Pilot Ace G64! Comes with a little mini diorama:

Looks like this color variant was a show exclusive of some sort.

I don't know for sure if it was a show exclusive (I don't think so, though) but it WAS the first release of that mold.

Man, Pilot Ace figures are nice but also really hard to find (and usually insanely expensive when you do find one). I’ve pretty much given up ever finding a Pilot Ace Rodan for my collection.

I've sold several of my Pilot Ace figures and have made really good money on them. They're great figures.

Is this a bootleg? I suspect it is but my seller has his doubts.
Image

He says its part of a line of figures called Toho Eiga, sometimes apparently called Concorde. I guess this line reused Kaiyodo kits, but my running theory right now is that those figures arent boots but the 89 is. It DOES have a gold Godzilla sticker and plastic stamp thingy on its foot, but IDK if that means anything.

Club Tokyo had an article on these long ago (Wayback Machine URL:)
https://web.archive.org/web/20111015031 ... ?catID=Art

Bottom line: They are bootlegs, gold sticker and all. They're bootleg buildups of Kaiyodo kits and are honestly okay figures if you like the look of them. But they are unlicensed, yes.

Thank you. I sent my seller the article and he's sending me a free figure since he felt bad selling me a bootleg.

... WTF is this?

Quote of the Year:
plasmabeam wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 3:03 am Hear me out on this. What if Godzilla is actually Suko’s father? In GvK when Godzilla defeated Kong and they were roaring at each other, what if Godzilla inseminated Kong at that moment and that’s why they were screaming?

Maybe the best MonsterVerse Godzilla figure ever made? Seriously, though is that Marmit or Marusan? It looks great whatever it is.
