OK, I just saw this thread and was going to bite my tongue about the Ultima trashing (I understand the problems, I really do, and I like this incarnation, but I don't want to always argue for it) but I had to respond to this.

Yeah, well, that’s the thing. I said I didn’t want Godzilla to be like that, and Soggy took it an unfavourable way.

It went like this:

> Soggy says I’m “mad” about Godzilla being God-like (which I’m really not, I have no idea how he drew to that conclusion)
> I tell him that it’s the reality warping part that I don’t like, which I stand by (I do not think Godzilla should be a dimensional threat, but rather, just a monster who’s a threat to humanity)

That's not saying the "the reality warping is what I like, Godzilla shouldn't be a dimensional threat", it says "why you picking apart my words? Can't come up with your own argument?" (And in turn making me look stupid).


In short, not responding, but trying to argue with me.

And then as you said, I "flamebaited" (I'm not gonna argue if it is or isn't. I'm a mod, I should know better so it's a slip up no matter what I did). However, this was again almost SOLEY because your response to me seemed like you want to argue.

I literally have the same problem as you. I think the reality warping isn't a great idea (more that I would have preferred it as a side effect of him rampaging instead of being some semi-eldritch monster specifically reshaping reality).

However, I didn't snap at you because of that opinion. I snapped because I thought you were trying to fight, like has been the only thing I've seen whenever I talk about SP whether it be other members, friends or so on.

Him, Earth and Shin form the unholy trinity of personality-less semi-immobile beings. Though to SP's credit, at least Terrestris/Ultima can actually move around and fight if he has to. The other two just either stand there or go "haha laser go bzzzz"

While the movie is fun, I thought the Final Wars version of Godzilla was the blandest in terms of appearance and presentation. Some good battle techniques, but was missing personality.

GXM for just being kinda boring and pulling some out of left field, probably unintentional, weirdness. The body slam for example.

This was genuinely one of the hardest answers for me because I really do love every version of Godzilla listed here. I ended up choosing GTS by default, that's how hard it was for me. I cannot say that there is a single version of Godzilla that I hate, at least in the films. Even anime, which is my least favorite Godzilla, still gets at minimum a "meh" from me.
