For mine by Era...

Showa Era (1954--1983): the 1st movie, the 1954 Godzilla as it is the one that started it all and defined what it meant to be a Godzilla.

Heisei Era (1984--1995): 'Godzilla vs Destroyah' as it returned to the Oxygen Destroyer concept only in kaiju form... of course I was hoping for (at least) the two of them to kill each other off rather than Destroyah being killed so easily like that.

Millennium Era (1999--2004): None really, a lot here had potential... but to me fell short (in one aspect or another) of my hopes/expectations.

Monsterverse Era (2014--2019): 2014 Godzilla film, and most likely I will enjoy the "King of the Monsters" film (based on the info and trailers I have seen it should be great, and the movie makers tried to have a lot of nods to classic films as far as I've heard... just the 2019 Ghidorah seems like a modern remake to the concept behind Toho's 1st Ghidorah!)

Post-Millennium Era (2016--2018): None as well. The Anime trilogy tried to be a big hit, but to me Toho had a LOT of missed potential in both story and kaiju designs. So much that at times I try to pretend that they don't exist (at least in my own little universe).

Millennium: GMK (Distant runner-up: G2K. Most of the Millennium films suck.)

Finally decided to revise that list I made last year after giving several Godzilla movies a rewatch. I admit this was a tough one, there's so much to choose from

60's: Monster Zero (GTTHM and KKvG are close contenders for me).

70's: Terror of Mechagodzilla.

80's: Godzilla vs Biollante.

90's: Godzilla 2000 (Although GvKG is a guilty pleasure purely due to how batshit insane the plot is lol).

2010's: Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
