Am I the only one who pronounces Gyaos as Guy-ose?

I vastly prefer Minya to Minilla.

So, as a Spanish myself, my pronunciation of the names is pretty much...neutral, I would say?

There's no clear syllable that takes over the others (that's actually a normal feature of Spanish, you really have to force the pronunciation to get the strong syllable)

So for, it's pretty much:

God-se-la
Ghi-do-rah
An-güi-rus

etc etc

Althought I do say GUY-gan

(And I've always called him King Shisa, to spare myself of translation stuff)

I think a lot of those sound pretty close to the Japanese names anyway. Gigan’s japanese name is pretty subtly different, where your GUYgan might be closer to how people romanize it. Technically it’s GAIGAN.

Yes. I think "Gow-s" is the more prevalent pronunciation. That's how it's said in most English language media and it's closer than "Guy-ose" to the Japanese pronunciation.

I’ve always heard it said as “gh-YOWS” and that’s how I usually say it but I sometimes fall into “GUY-ose” our of habit.

“Minya” is closer to the Japanese pronounciation (“Mini-ra” as in, “mini Gojira”) but Minilla is closer to the romanization. Pronouncing it like “min-ILLA” feels awkward, so I just use Minya as well.

And yeah, Minya rolls off the tongue better imo.
