Unpopular Kaiju Suits/Designs you Like

I love both Toho Kong suits. The one that I feel really gets unfairly pooped on is Heisei Mecha G. I think it works as a man-made machine, and somehow highlights the role it plays in the film: a "heroic" mech for Japan but the villain of the story.
Monster X and Keizer Ghidorah are also dimes.

Godzilla Terrestris.

The most epic result of combining Godzilla with an Allosaurus, a snake and a Japanese Oni to create one frightening, powerful, mythological-looking take on the King of the Monsters. His footsteps echo sheer power even before he first appears from behind that building. Every time he's on screen, you feel like you're in the presence of a God.

Heisei Mechagodzilla and Moguera. I like the sleek chrome aesthetic of them which also continues off of how Mecha-King Ghidorah’s mechanical parts looked, they look like futuristic technology. And of course they’re gonna be bulky, Heisei Godzilla’s bulky, that’s the point.

Also, Godzilla from Son of Godzilla. It’s not a good looking suit, but it works well on the same screen as Minilla and it’s got a certain charm to it.

It's the weakest Godzilla suit of its generation but look at its competition. I don't think it looks all that bad, and I totally agree that it works great with Minya. IMO the biggest problem with it is that Nakajima wasn't wearing it.

Agreed. I know I've said this a million times before but I actually prefer it over the more iconic Heisei design that came after.

Absolutely. It's kinda hard to believe how many people absolutely hate it. "It's generic." So? Gorosaurus, Kamacuras, and literally EVERY King Kong design are also generic and you don't see people complaining about them.

Absolutely. It's kinda hard to believe how many people absolutely hate it. "It's generic." So? Gorosaurus, Kamacuras, and literally EVERY King Kong design are also generic and you don't see people complaining about them.

Gorosaurus has defining features. Signature head-shape, huge tail, upright stance, the colouration, thick legs.

Kamacuras is meant to be a generic praying mantis.

King Kong is just meant to be a giant ape lol.

I disagree. For one, just because it doesn’t have “defining features” doesn’t mean it’s generic—especially with a character as iconic as MechaGodzilla. Legendary’s Godzilla has no real “defining features” aside from being Godzilla—but that certainly does not make him generic. He still looks revamped for a modern audience and absolutely badass to behold. Ready Player One MechaGodzilla is just the same; he’s got a newly designed head and teeth, a very Legendary Godzilla-inspired physique and dorsal plates, but he’s still unmistakably MechaGodzilla. He doesn’t look like a Grimlock rip-off or any other robot dinosaur from pop-culture; one look at him and you know exactly who he is, just as the same with Legendary’s Godzilla.

Just an anecdote. When I went to the cinema to watch RPO, I took some of my irl friends, who are big on Godzilla. When MG showed up on screen, my friends and I didn’t know who it was, until Artemis said it’s name aloud. Isn’t that a wee bit telling?

Should have used Kiryu (like the book) or Showa for Halidays’ 70s obsession. Heck, I would even been pleased if it were the Heisei version.
