Shortly after his battle with the space monster Bagorah, Godzilla made his way further inland, making his way from Vancouver to Camas, Washington. Though instead of causing carnage, the reptile simply stood still in the city, resting. Despite the monster's peacefulness, this did not sit right with Colonel Cameron of the United States military, who intended to defend the city at all costs, claiming that G-Force had done nothing in the past but get in the way of a proper militaristic response to Godzilla's rampages. Even though Cybersaur had been destroyed, Cameron revealed that the military actually had a second war machine waiting in the wings and introduced the All-Terraintula, a massive mechanical spider.
Despite doubts from G-Force that the All-Terraintula would be any more successful than its predecessor and warnings not to needlessly antagonize Godzilla, Cameron ordered the new mech to begin its assault. The All-Terraintula sprang into action, approaching the oblivious Godzilla from behind and getting his attention with a blast from its Anti-Godzilla Cannon. The beam hurt and enraged Godzilla, who immediately retaliated with his atomic ray. However, the attack didn't work quite as the Monster King had anticipated; the All-Terraintula was coated with a special Anti-Godzilla-Beam Plating which protected it from damage caused by the blast, while at the same time absorbing and storing the energy released by it. With the All-Terraintula's Anti-Godzilla Cannon fully charged by Godzilla's ray, it let loose a beam powerful enough to blast Godzilla off his feet and send him careening backwards onto the ground. Furious and not yet making the connection between the eight-legged mech's ultimate weapon and his own, Godzilla rose to his feet and unleashed another atomic blast, only to be sent hurtling through the air by another of the All-Terraintula's supercharged beams.
Once he was back on his feet, Godzilla did not attempt to use his ray again, instead observing his foe for a moment. Suddenly, the reptile charged, but the All-Terraintula used its eight legs to leap away just in time, avoiding the attack. Nailing Godzilla with another blast from its Anti-Godzilla Cannon, the All-Terraintula was caught off guard as Godzilla employed a different tactic, swinging his tail forward and smashing it into the mech, sending it skidding backwards into a building. Though damaged, the machine was still operational, taking aim and firing the Super-Tranq, a large missile filled with curare and cadmium, striking Godzilla in the upper thigh. Before Godzilla could react to this, giant alien game hunters known as Dianii appeared and exited their space craft. Intent on hunting Godzilla and worried that the All-Terraintula would injure him before they had the chance, one of the Dianii emerged with their Mega-Zooka, a large cannon weapon. With a single shot, the Mega-Zooka hit the All-Terraintula hard, engulfing it in a massive ball of fire and seemingly reducing it to burning wreckage.
Time passed as the Dianii proceeded to attack Godzilla, but everything the hunters threw at the monster proved to be useless. As Godzilla picked off the Dianii one by one, Colonel Cameron and his forces - which revealed themselves to be the Aliens from the Third Planet from the Black Hole - boarded and took control of the game hunter's vessel. As the alien craft took to the air, Cameron sent an order to the All-Terraintula: Proceed with Plan Gamma! Amazingly, despite some minor damage and the loss of one of its right legs, the mechanical spider was still fully operational, righting itself and approaching the battle zone. Both the All-Terraintula and the Dianii ship made their way from Camas to Portland, where Godzilla and the Dianii had ended up during their fight. As Colonel Cameron had the Dianii craft open fire on Godzilla, the purple spider snuck up on the remaining two alien hunters, incinerating the Dianii Captain with its Anti-Godzilla Cannon. This sent the Rookie, now the final living member of the hunting party, into a rage. Attacking the All-Terraintula in a frenzy, the young Dianii beat the machine with the Captain's arm, then grabbed the arachnid's two front legs, spinning around and hurtling the mech through the air.
Unfortunately, the All-Terraintula's unwilling flight was brought to a sudden stop by Godzilla, who caught the mechanical spider in his hands. Overwhelmed and injured and infuriated from his fight with the Dianii and the assault from their vessel, Godzilla focused all his rage and power on the All-Terraintula, crushing it in his bare hands. With the eight-legged machine destroyed, its storage pods ruptured, releasing the nuclear energy it had absorbed from Godzilla's atomic ray. This replenished the King of the Monster's strength, giving him the power he needed to bring down the All-Terraintula's alien masters. |
