A photo extensive book dedicated to the 2002 Godzilla film: Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. In fact, 438 photos are found inside in total, 302 of which are in color. This series, an ongoing one from Shogakukan at the time, covers the 2002 movie in a lot of depth with emphasis on the monsters and military alike.

The book is most famous for its multi-angle perspective shots of the monsters, military vehicles, the 1954 Godzilla bones, trilobite, and even the small grappling hook used by the movie's protagonist. Also included are in-depth statistics related to the monsters and SDF machines in the film. The book also covers, in black and white, the actors from the film. Also included are over a 100 shots related to behind the scenes material for the film, including the creation of the CGI composition shots, the creation of the suits (including a look at the scrapped Godzilla design with the elongated fangs) and more. Godzilla X Mechagodzilla: Super Complete Works also covers the other kaiju, that didn't directly appear in the film, who are also connected with Masaki Tezuka's "Kiryu Saga". A brief history of the maser tanks is given in the book as well.

The book also comes with a double sided poster with the 2002 Godzilla on one side, with smaller pictures next to it, and Kumi Mizuno, in her Xilien outfit and next to smaller pictures of her from other films, on the other side. It should be noted that the Mizuno side of the poster is in black and white, except a shot of her as the prime minister from Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002).

Overall, a solid book on the production and who can't help but love the cover, an ongoing motif of showing the monsters from the film locked in close-up combat.
