A lot of fun and surprising results this year! And as always, it’s much appreciated for your participation in the 2023 Awards! But now, we’ve gathered your results for the Feedback Survey, and have a couple of very important pieces to announce.

In regards to Godzillasaurus:

This character will be officially brought back as a protoform for Godzilla (Heisei). His main Combatant status will officially be put into Retirement from his former “Multimedia Exclusivity” position. This means you can submit matches featuring the Godzillasaurus character, but it will operate as part of Godzilla (Heisei)’s name and record (all of the previous Godzillasaurus matches will remain with his Combatant status). This was admittedly a closer race than anticipated, but ultimately the majority vote went to making him a protoform.

In regards to Match Requests:

We have all your Match Requests collected; however, to ensure we have every option available, please cast your vote and thoughts over on the recent Crossovers Feedback Survey. There we also have another Match Request list for any of the Crossover candidates. Final results will be revealed on the 11th!

In regards to Generative AI in the K.W.C.:

We will not be accepting submissions that completely use Generative AI Content; those will be rejected or deleted on the spot. Same goes for banners. However, it will be within acceptable parameters to use AI-Assists to help with grammar checks, but still must be the result of human effort.

With AI Voices, for full transparency moving forward, all AI Voices used for narrations will be specifically denoted as such (i.e. “Alicia Ingram (AI)”). We will be attempting to prioritize getting more human voices for Narrations in the future. The use of AI Generated Voices will be strictly prohibited in the K.W.C. Multimedia; any signs of it will have your submission rejected, and you will be banned from the K.W.C.

Nevertheless, with that set and stone, even during our break, we still hope to provide some interesting submissions through the course of the year–even if things are temporarily slowing down. Expect 2 matches in the coming month of February!

January 1st, 2024 Update

Despite slowing down, having 3 Event Months certainly does a number! It was a crazy year for the K.W.C.; simultaneously the most amount of Event Months and I think most amount of Debuts in a while.

However, I must begin with the fact that the K.W.C. will be slowing down just a tad yet again; a light hiatus is going in effect for the sake of the mental health of key members of staff. That said, K.W.C.s will still be put up in an alternating pattern of 1, 2, 1, 2; so one for this month, two for February, one for March, etc. Likewise, there won’t be any Event Months for the year. However, this will not be permanent, and will only apply for this year. We’re hoping to come back strong for 2025.

In the meantime, the K.W.C. Awards and Feedback Surveys are live! The voting will be ongoing between now until January 31st at 10 PM EST, with results on February 1st!
