The 2021 Anime film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is headed to theaters in North America, courtesy of Crunchyroll. Released on December 24th, 2021, in Japan, the MAPPA and Toho Animation production has since become a box office hit. In fact, it presently ranks as the 27th highest grossing film in Japan. The supernatural movie is based off the manga of the same name (呪術廻戦 0 – Jujutsu Kaisen Zero) by author Gege Akutami, which is actually a pen name.
The North America release is scheduled for March 18th, 2022. Both subtitled and dubbed versions of the film will be screened.
Directed by Sunghoo Park with a screenplay by Hiroshi Seko, the movie focuses on a cursed high school student, Yuta Okkotsu. After meeting a sorcerer, named Satoru Gojo, Yuta joins his school in an attempt to control his curse. The movie follows the then “series finale” of an anime show based on Jujutsu Kaisen 0. However, a second season was announced this month.
An official trailer for the North America release of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has been uploaded online as well, the second trailer by Crunchyroll.

When they were children, Rika Orimoto was killed in a traffic accident right before the eyes of her close friend, Yuta Okkotsu.
“It’s a promise. When we both grow up, we’ll get married.”
Rika became an apparition, and Yuta longed for his own death after suffering under her curse,
but the greatest Jujutsu sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, welcomed him into Jujutsu High.
There Yuta meets his classmates, Maki Zen’in, Toge Inumaki, and Panda, and finally finds his own determination.
“I want the confidence to say it’s okay that I’m alive!”
“While I’m at Jujutsu High, I’ll break Rika-chan’s curse.”
Meanwhile, the vile curse user, Suguru Geto, who was expelled from the school for massacring ordinary people, appears before Yuta and the others.
“This coming December 24th, we shall carry out the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons.”
While Geto advocates for creating a paradise for only jujutsu sorcerers, he unleashes a thousand curses upon Shinjuku and Kyoto to exterminate all non-sorcerers.
Will Yuta be able to stop Geto in the end?
And what will happen to breaking Rika’s curse…?
