Today, Toho announced a new Godzilla ride attraction that is in development. The project will be helmed by Takashi Yamazaki, who has not just directed a host of movies for Toho like Godzilla Minus One (2023) and Yokaipedia (2022), but also directed and wrote the Godzilla the Ride attraction that debuted in 2021 at the Seibuen Amusement Park.

For the project, Yamazaki is once again collaborating with Brogent Technologies to bring a new Godzilla experience to life. Utilizing the iRide system, the upcoming attraction is slated for a summer 2025 debut.

In a statement, Yamazaki expressed his excitement for the project, stating: “I’m thrilled to return to Godzilla’s world from the passenger seat. What powerful foes will emerge? Where will this ride take us next? As a ride enthusiast myself, I can’t wait for my first spin—and I’m working day and night with our team to make this the most terrifying ride in the world.”

As noted, the upcoming ride will utilize the iRide system developed by Brogent Technologies. A benefit of this, though, is that the upcoming attraction will not be locked into a single amusement part, the way Godzilla the Ride was. In fact, a second report notes that the ride is set to appear in 40 different locations globally that feature the iRide system. The exact locations are unknown. i-Ride Taipei, which is actually branded with the iRide name, is probably likely since it featured Attack on Titan and other attractions. However, many locations with the system are often themed based on their location and would be unlikely to swap out their content for something on Godzilla. For example, as the name suggests, FlyOver Canada located in Vancouver, British Columbia, is devoted to taking guests on an aerial trip over Canada while also using the iRide system.

Regardless of the global launch, additional details like the ride’s official title and featured monsters are noted to be revealed at a later date.
