September 15th, 2022 update

GigaBash was released on August 5, 2022 for the Playstation 4 and 5 as well as Windows PCs to favorable reviews. The announcement of Godzilla’s addition to the roster of monsters was made public via a teaser video uploaded to the developer and publisher’s YouTube channel. The full scope and details of the collaboration have yet to be revealed. The initial teaser video shows an in game cityscape with the GigaBash title shuddering to the sound of footsteps before Godzilla’s blue atomic breath strikes the title card from off screen right causing an explosion which moves the GigaBash title over to the left side of the screen, making space for the original Gojira Katakana writing with Godzilla in smaller font beneath to spawn on the right side.

The video’s description reads as follows:

“An unidentified roar echoed from a realm beyond… Could this be a hostile takeover? Or perhaps a sign of the impending apocalypse… Get ready, citizens. We’re excited to announce that #GigaBash is collaborating with #Godzilla on something really special!”

If any of Godzilla’s fellow friends and foes, such as King Ghidorah or Mothra, are joining in on the fun is currently unknown. However, Toho Kingdom will be keeping a close eye on this collaboration and will continue to report as more details emerge.
