Godzilla fans have been eating good, courtesy of Alamo Drafthouse. Last year they gave their Cinema Valley Fair theater a giant monster overhaul, and showed a handful of Toho Godzilla films, with more showings planned later this year. For those of you looking for merch, they’ve got you covered with several offerings from their AlamoMart. This article will take a look at a few of them, along with quick thoughts for each.
Godzilla Day 2025 T-Shirt
Sold Out
Alamo Drafthouse created this gorgeous shirt specifically for Godzilla Day. The illustration is nothing short of awesome, with a menacing Showa era Godzilla who appears to be poking out of the water. Some Japanese text gives it an extra layer of authenticity. The actual quality of the T-shirt is higher than most I’ve worn, so this should survive many washes.

Godzilla in Color T-Shirt

Another shirt, this one with a design they’ve used more broadly across multiple items. The folks at Alamo are true artists, and this is a wonderful showcase of the Showa era monsters we’ve all come to know and love. Mechagodzilla fans in particular should be pleased with this one. The color really pops, and you’ll undoubtedly catch a lot of people checking you out in this handsome garment.

Godzilla in Color Pint Glass
https://giftshop.drafthouse.com/products/godzilla-in-color-pint-glass
This isn’t the first Godzilla pint glass Alamo Drafthouse has produced (they made a glass for Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire), but it is their first Toho Godzilla glass. It’s a rearrangement of the “Godzilla in Color” art from the T-shirt I wrote about. Elements have been shifted around to better accommodate the shape of the glass, and the colors have been altered as well. It still looks lovely, and I’ll be breaking this beauty out for special occasions.

Kaiju Enamel Pin Set
https://giftshop.drafthouse.com/products/kaiju-enamel-pin-set
I’m not much of a pin guy, but this set of four Showa monster pins is a nice way to start a pin collection. They’re all illustrated well, with nice coloring. I had some trouble unscrewing them for some reason, but I chalk that up to me being unfamiliar with pins. These eye catching monsters will make your bags and jackets the talk of the town.

Mothra Coffee Mug
https://giftshop.drafthouse.com/products/mothra-coffee-mug
The Mothra Winged Mug is a very special item. The artistry on display here is a real show stopper. The wings and illustrations are perfectly realized, with vibrant colors that have me spending as much time ogling the Queen of the Monsters as I spend drinking. This is easily one of the coolest items in my collection, and I’ve had tea many times with it now. I do have two issues, however. The wings feel surprisingly durable, but I don’t feeling comfortable flipping the mug upside down to drown as I worry that doing this several times over the next several years might eventually take its toll. I’d recommend hand drying it with a gentle towel. The other issue is that it is quite small, holding roughly 7.5oz. It’s perfect for a nice tea break, but for someone wanting a larger drink, I’d just pull out a standard mug.

Godzilla Popcorn Bucket
Sold Out
Probably the most exciting of the Alamo Drafthouse collection (so far!), the Godzilla Popcorn Bucket is just undeniably awesome. The sculpt on this thing is terrific, and its mouth can open nice and wide. It’s made of pretty hearty vinyl, so if it gets knocked over it should be fine. The paint application is passable, though it could be a bit better, especially on the teeth. As much as I love this thing, it’s a pretty horrible popcorn bucket. It’s a pain to load Godzilla with popcorn, and if you make the mistake of closing his mouth when he has a lot of popcorn in him you’ll likely have trouble opening his mouth wide again. Even with his mouth open all the way, it’s just not that easy to get a good handful of popcorn. It’s also a huge pain to clean, and I’m concerned that the paint will get rubbed off if I wash it too much. All that said, it’s just so awesome having such a big replica of the Godzilla (1964) head, complete with articulated jaw. It’s s not feeding me anymore, but it’s still overlooking the living room as I watch Godzilla movies, and I doubt that’ll change anytime soon.
