Dr. Hell sends two mechanical beasts, by the names of Zalia and Danchel, to attack Tokyo. Zalia boasts Godzilla's roar, while Danchel emits Anguirus' cry. It could also be argued that the scenes depicting Zalia destroying Tokyo have cinematic similarities to Destroy All Monsters (1968).

Throughout this rather odd episode of the original Getter Robo (complete with dinosaur assassins on motorbikes and the sudden appearance of absurd numbers of armored tanks), Mechasaurus Godo boasts a modified Rodan roar. His detachable tail is also arguably inspired by the Ultraman monster Gomora.

Throughout the series, the Great Demon Empire's transport stone demon (Gante) possesses a mix of roars, including those of Rodan, Anguirus, King Ghidorah, and even Fake Godzilla (from Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla [1974]). Various fossil beasts also possess a number of famous roars, including those of Godzilla, Gamera, and Gyaos.

After the deaths of generals Gekido and Gourai, the monstrous ancient underworld demon Barao sends the first and arguably most powerful colossal monster to slay Raideen and the other protagonists. This colossal monster almost shares the same name as Baragon, although the kana is rendered slightly differently. To boot, he also possesses the roars of Godzilla and Gamera.

Killer the Butcher celebrates his birthday by sending down the latest Mecha-Boost, namely Mecha-Boost Mogundar. Mogundar's roar is that of Godzilla's and he also has highly potent regeneration which transforms him into Mecha-Boost Harindar. While Harindar also has Godzilla's roar, he is more of an homage to Anguirus in both appearance and personality. His nasal horns are also very similar to those of Baragon's.

Armed with the ability to swim, regenerative properties, a theropod structure with back fins, tremendous fighting capabilities, and even the nuclear leviathan's roar, the last named Battle Robot of the series Graneiru is a definite homage to Godzilla.

Program: Astro Boy

Episode/Sketch: Space Leopard Air Date: October 28th, 1981

Astro must fight against a strange, energy-draining green leopard with six legs in this episode. The leopard makes a variety of roars throughout the episode, but in the end, when he is defeated by Astro Boy, his roar is that of Titanosaurus from Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975).

In this episode, the crew of the Zelana are attacked by the giant bird, Gallo. This creature's roar is the same as Gaira's from The War of the Gargantuas (1966).

When the Inbit decide to experiment with Earth's life forms for the purpose of improving adaptation, they revive a variety of ancient creatures. Stick, Ray, and Mint encounter a Tyrannosaurs that boasts Maguma's roar.

During this Genesis Climber MOSPEADA clip show, Ray encounters a wyrm dragon in the midst of his hallucinations. It kidnaps Aisha and chases Ray throughout the remainder of the episode. The dragon boasts the cries of King Ghidorah and Titanosaurus, the latter of which is a higher pitched version of the roar featured in Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975).

Episode/Sketch: Safari Joe Air Date: October 10th, 1985

Intergalactic big-game hunter Safari Joe is hunting the ThunderCats, and when he goes toe-to-toe with Panthro, Joe utilizes his technology to take advantage of Panthro's secret fear of bats. Joe creates an energy bat that soon subdues the noble ThunderCat. Incidentally, the energy bat happens to have the King Ghidorah's classic chuckling roar from the Showa series.

 Reference: Rodan (1956) and Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975)
Episode/Sketch: Gildrome's Decline and Fall Air Date: October 11th, 1985

General Gildrome steals Shapiro's three incomplete Replicants to lure them into battle in a crowded Japanese city. Just before Gildrome is forced to destroy them by order of Emperor Zorbados, Big Moth's Replicant emits Rodan's howl. The origin story of these Replicants is also arguably similar to that of Mechagodzilla, and their rampage appears similar to the city destruction scenes in Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975).

Program: The Life & Adventures of Santa Claus (TV Special)

A flying dragon that boasts the same roar as Rodan appears in this special, and also bears a resemblance to Manda of Atragon (1963) fame. As an added note of interest, a flying demon that sports the shriek of the Imago Mothra also makes an appearance.

Program: Machine Robo - Revenge of Cronos

Episode/Sketch: Rockdon vs. Rockgiran Air Date: November 27th, 1986

This episode features the Gyandlar, specifically Diondra, awakening the monster Rockdon who heavily resembles Baragon and has the kaiju's roar. After Vikung-fu is unable to defeat him (a first in the series) a pterosaur monster named Rockgiran is awakened and has the same roar as Rodan. The episode ends with both monsters fusing into a giant rock.

Program: New Story of Aura Battler Dunbine

In this bloody three-part OAV, one can find a variety of kaiju roars. Rodan's cry is used for wyverns in the first episode and a giant eel creature in the last episode. Ebirah's roar can be heard emanating from a horse in the first battle. Finally, Jiras (which are eel-like sand dragons) emit Gaira's roar when they are killed by crossbows in the second episode.

The tourists and guides of the space travel company, Dream of Roman, find themselves in a dimension with robot dinosaurs with a Psyco Gundam triceratops, a Hizack tyrannosaur, a Sazabi ankylosaurus, and a Marasai stegosaurus. The roars emitted from these mobile suit dinosaurs include those of Varan and Megalon.

Episode/Sketch: Save Paffy! Idoro's Dark Grasp Over Magic! Air Date: August 16th, 1994

Galden's witch minion Idoro summons an army of skeletal undead knights to fight the heroes. They manage to capture Paffy, Katze, Izumi, and Hagu Hagu. When Adeu and Sarutobi infiltrate Idoro's flying skeletal whale castle, they are greeted by two undead dragons that emit Rodan's cry.

Ascot summons Deucy, a snail-like creature, to once again attempt to destroy the Magic Knights. Deucy has the trademark gurgle of Godzilla's acidic archnemesis, Hedorah.

Upon entering the fourth VS Zone of the series, the boys have to rescue the girls in a RPG-board game hybrid area. During a montage one of the spaces they arrive on takes them six spaces ahead, this is done via a pterosaur with the cry of King Ghidorah.

To save Tuddrussell from the clutches of Kubla Khan, Sheila orders her robot companion XJ5 to rescue him. XJ5 emits a hologram of a Chinese dragon. Godzilla's roar can be heard once the hologram is displayed, and Khan's battalion retreats with great haste.

In this episode, the Galaxy Angel crew put on a show in which they are thrust into a bizarre medieval fantasy fairy tale world full of much battle, unrest, treachery, and parody as the protagonists battle for control of the land. Towards the end of the episode, super-cute girl Milfeulle is shown in a still picture decked out in knightly gear battling an enormous dragon, and Godzilla's roar is heard clearly in the background.

Chronically ditsy heroine Tenma Tsukamoto manages to lock herself in the school gym after classes and finds herself alone and starving. After discovering a fresh pastry on the floor, she gives into temptation and takes a bite--only to discover the confection is hot curry bread, prompting a great burst of flame from her distressed mouth, and the instantly recognizable roar of Godzilla.

Following the destruction of Major Zairin's Bio-Mega Raptor, Supreme Commander Jiin reveals to him his newest Bio-Zoid, Bio-Volcano. Bio-Volcano's roar is identical to that of Gaira's from War of the Gargantuas (1966).

In this episode, Skunk tries to learn how to control his dreams after Dragon's Ninja Monkeys begin to infiltrate his sleep, causing nightmares. Eventually, the monkeys combine into a huge gorilla, forcing Skunk to transform himself into a Godzilla-like monster (complete with Godzilla's classic roar).

He even boasts the GODZILLA (1998) roar. The movie title is quite possibly a nod to King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) and Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964).
