After an odd tremor buried a gang under hundreds
of tons of rock and Earthy debris, the Self Defense
Force deployed an experimental weapon known as
the D-03 drill missile to search for survivors.
The missiles fired, split, and revealed the jagged
features of the D-03 drill, a machine of astonishing
potential from both a civil and militaristic perspective.
Unfortunately, no survivors were recovered from
the site of the incident, save a single truck
driver who was convinced that he had seen the
abominable face of Godzilla.
However, it soon became clear that a burrowing
creature, a legendary monster known as Baragon,
was the real culprit behind the attack. It was
not until the true Godzilla killed Baragon and
arrived in Yokohama that the Taiho would face
their most taxing mission yet. These military
vehicles remained on standby as the guardian beasts
Mothra and Ghidorah entered the fray. They were
rendered unconscious by Godzilla's superior strength,
and the order was quickly given for all military
personnel to attack. Much to the horror of onlookers,
Godzilla's atomic ray destroyed all of the Taihos,
as well as a escort cruiser and over 90% of the
forces that comprised the Yokohama Defense Line.
Though these ground-based vehicles had met their
end, the D-03 weapon, which they were designed
to launch, would eventually prove to be a key
weapon in the total annihilation of the nuclear
menace.
