Description

A versatile, single-person deep sea submersible, the Satsuma was the perfect choice to investigate the recent reports of a missing nuclear submarine off the coast of Guam. Three of these vehicles observed the crashed vessel, and noted the sheer magnitude of the damage inflicted. Suddenly, one of the submarines met a tragic end when it was attacked by an unknown force enshrouded by a murky veil. The glowing spines of an ominous, unidentified object glided through the sea. This was reason enough to fear the worst: Godzilla had returned.

Docking with the Battle Cruiser Aizu, the services of the Satsuma weren't employed again until shortly after Godzilla's defeat of the monster Baragon in Hakone and Mothra in Yokohama. King Ghidorah had become incredibly powerful and wounded Godzilla, and the two monsters were locked in mortal combat deep in Yokohama Bay. Two of the Satsuma submarines were launched into the water, and in the chaos that followed; the D-03 drill was fired. Godzilla dodged, and the missile struck King Ghidorah instead, unintentionally giving Godzilla the immediate upper hand. Fortunately, an amulet soon replenished King Ghidorah's strength, but Godzilla merely absorbed the power of his enemy's newly acquired gravity beams and unleashed a charged thermonuclear ray to finish his opponent. The combined energy of the guardian beasts then entered Godzilla, and he began to lose buoyancy, sinking deeper and deeper into the bay..

Desperate to destroy the creature, Admiral Tachibana piloted the Satsuma into Godzilla's gaping maw, and from within the admiral fired a D-03, piercing a hole through Godzilla wound from the inside out. Every attempt Godzilla made to fire his atomic ray only increased the severity of the now enlarged wound, and as the Satsuma escaped from the gargantuan animal's insides, Godzilla charged one final ray. Disappearing from radar, it was clear that Godzilla had fallen victim to his own overwhelming power.

As Admiral Tachibana emerged from the Satsuma, confident in the victory of humankind, little did he realize that the shadow of evil still remained. As Godzilla's disembodied heart began to beat once more, it was clear that Godzilla could rise to terrorize the planet another day...
