A gargantuan, three-headed, golden dragon named
King Ghidorah began his terrible onslaught on
Japan in the early 1990s. The Futurians, time
travelers with a desire for the obliteration of
Japan before it would ultimately become an unstoppable
superpower, held the reigns of the abomination
as it systematically began to assault the country's
major cities. Desperate for the extermination
of this aggressor, the Japanese government began
to brainstorm. A suggestion was made: why not
mutate the Godzillasaurus that lie at the bottom
of the Bering Sea? The Futurians had relocated
the cryptic relic in the 1940's in order to halt
its eventual transformation into Godzilla. Using
the immense atomic payload of the secret Musashi-2
nuclear submarine, the Japanese government could
generate a new Godzilla from the injured, half-dead
corpse lying on the ocean floor. Though obviously
risky, this plan of action was, nevertheless,
put into effect.
As the Musashi-2 was prepared for launch, Miki
Saegusa sensed that the Godzillasaurus had already
mutated. In the 1970's, a nuclear submarine had
crashed in the vicinity, releasing huge amounts
of radioactive materials. When satellite photos
appeared to confirm this notion, Kenichiro Terasawa
and Emmy Kano rushed to warn the government. Their
efforts were thwarted, however, by the Futurians'
most powerful android: M11.
The Musashi-2 slowly began to approach its destination
in the indigo mist of the deep sea, when suddenly
a moving monolith appeared in the distance. Those
aboard the doomed submarine attempted to signal
for help, but unfortunately, it was too late.
Godzilla grasped the vessel and absorbed its nuclear
energy. The Musashi-2 was destroyed...
Meanwhile, Miki Saegusa and Professor Mazaki
looked on in wonder as the sea began to boil.
Godzilla, now one hundred meters in height, emerged
from the surf. The living symbol of the atomic
age returned to terrorize humanity once more...
