Manufactured by Mitsubishi, the HSS-2B is a
license-built version of the American Sikorsky
Sea King, whose primary purpose is as an Anti-Submarine
Helicopter. However, the craft was used for a
much different purpose in the mid 1980's, when
the helicopter was summoned forth to join in the
search with the SH-60J to find the submerged Godzilla
in the waters surrounding Tokyo.
In the early 1990's, during the Futurian epidemic,
the HSS-2B was called forth to ferry Miki Saegusa
and Professor Mazaki out to sea, once again in
search of Godzilla. Flying low over the ocean,
Miki attempted to sense Godzilla's presence, like
she had over Mount Mihara, and was successful
as nuclear leviathan rose from the Ocean beneath
them, on his way inland for a confrontation with
King Ghidorah. |
