Volcano

Although these stages don't populate a lot of worlds, only half of them in fact, they do appear often on both Mars and Pluto. As the name suggests, the Volcano stages are themed around fire type foes that will attempt to stop the advance of the player.

Variation 1:

Pretty straight forward, and short, these stages act as a nice introduction for the player to the enemies found in the Volcano stage. It should be noted, that Volcanos can only be destroyed by being hit near the eruption point and Shifting Earth can only be damaged when the top segment is hit.

Enemies: Kilaak Flying Saucer; Firestorm Phoenix; Manda; Flame Shurikens; Volcanoes; Shifting Earth; Inferno Craft; Atragon
Variation 2:

The second Volcano variation is notably harder than its predecessor, as they tend to be on the long side and the player will quickly find them selves bombarded by foes on all fronts.

Variation 3:

Similar to the second variation in length, the third variation's main difference between the others is the numerous amounts of Volcano and Shifting Earths that will appear throughout the stage.
