Mecha City

Appearing once in every world, the Mecha City stages usually cultivate around the exit to each world, the large exception being Neptune which is populated solely with Mecha Cities. A feature that all three variations have in common is the automated missiles which will fire if either monster jumps/flies to the upper portion of the stage.

Variation 1:

The shortest variation, this level is cluttered with automated weapon systems which are built into the walls, and have a tendency to be concealed up until the player approaches them. Note, if the player is at Uranus or farther, JX Class Ships will replace the Black Shark enemies normally found in this stage.

Enemies: Array Cannon; Turret; Tri-Missile Launcher; Trip Walls; Electric Cannon; Two Switch Cannons; Super-X; Inferno Craft; Black Shark/JX Class Ship


Variation 2:

A middle of the road variation in terms of length, like the other Mecha City variations this level is cluttered with automated weapon systems which are built into the walls, and have a tendency to be concealed up until the player approaches them. Note, if the player is at Uranus or farther, JX Class Ships will replace the Black Shark enemies normally found in this stage.

Variation 3:

This variation appears very late in the game and, as one would expect, is the hardest type of stage to navigate as it is painfully long, easily the longest stage in the game, with a full armament of automated weapon systems. Note, if the player is at Uranus or farther, JX Class Ships and SSS-1s will replace the Black Shark and Atragon enemies normally found in this stage.
