A Toho Kingdom exclusive, these
videos were captured from the 2004 E3 (Electronic
Entertainment Expo) event and show the Xbox version
of the game in motion. The movies were taken by Chris
Mirjahangir, who had this to say about the experience:
"I checked this out with a couple
of friends (who are not godzilla fans by the way).
I filmed the 1st part of it myself but then said "screw
this!" and decided to play. Godzilla, Gigan,
Space Godzilla, and Mechagodzilla 3 (Kiryu) were the
only ones playable. The game itself is only 50% complete
so please don't be too critical of it. I was more
interested in walking around and checking out the
scenery than really playing. Looks like a damn fun
game although there's quite a bit that NEEDS to be
fixed (By the way, E3 is loud and I couldn't hear
any music. The punch sounds are generic and I think
are being used as "place holders" until a better sound
comes in. Godzilla should have more than two roars,
too.). There's clipping problems, the buildings collapse
THE SAME WAY as the 1st (they MELT into the ground),
the gun fire from the helecopters looks weird, the
battleships look just plain bad and the water and
throwing effects need A LOT of work. It's too bad
that single player is Godzilla ONLY in my opinion
but then again, I haven't seen the whole game so I
can't really comment on that. The people running from
the buildings look REALLY bad too and the "free cam"
in the challenges modes is VERY hard to deal with
when you're being hit from all over. Controls need
a lot of work too. Was pretty tough to move compared
to the G:DAMM controls for some reason
This game was playing on 1 Xbox at E3.
I went into Atari's booth and all they had was Driver
3 and a few other games. Godzilla was ignored totally
aside from this demo. To sum up, this game KICKS ASS
in spite of all it's current "faults". I can't wait
for this game to come out and I hope you all enjoy
the clips. It sucks we pretty much got 5 very ugly
screenshots and 2.5 seconds of video in a Xbox compilation
video but these are the best there is now. Happy 50th
Godzilla!"
