In order to hurt Mecha-King
Ghidorah, players have to first attack one of its heads,
to do this players will have to be situated in the
center (vertically) of the stage when attacking. After
being hit in the head, Mecha-King Ghidorah will stand
motionless, with its cockpit flashing red, for almost
two seconds. Its during these two seconds that the
player will have to strike at Mecha-King Ghidorah's
chest to actually hurt the Kaiju. After two seconds
have passed, Mecha-King Ghidorah's heads will lunge
forward, attempting to bite the player, before it goes
back to firing projectiles. The perfect time to hit
Mecha-King Ghidorah is right after he bites but before
he has a chance to start firing at the player again.
After, successfully, hitting Mecha-King Ghidorah in
the chest six times, one of Mecha-King Ghidorah's organic
heads will self-destruct and drop four Rage Up power
ups. After hitting Mecha-King Ghidorah an additional
eight times in the chest, his other organic head will
self-destruct and drop another four Rage Up power ups.
If Mecha-King Ghidorah is hit another eight times,
his central head will go wild and start firing off
projectiles at an accelerated rate. Hit Mecha-King
Ghidorah another eight times to finally destroy him. |
| Character Specific Strategies |
- Godzilla: Use Godzilla's Horizontal Claw (L Button,
then A Button) to attack one of Mecha-King Ghidorah's
heads. Because Godzilla's Horizontal Claw is a lunging
move, it should be executed while Godzilla is in the middle
of the stage (horizontally). Once Mecha-King Ghidorah's
chest is blinking, follow up with two Diagonal Kicks (L
Button, then A Button), following the second Diagonal
Kick, run away from Mecha-King Ghidorah to avoid its bite
attack. After Mecha-King Ghidorah has finished trying
to bite Godzilla, Horizontal Claw one of his heads again
and repeat the above strategy until he is defeated. If
your rage meter is full, and Godzilla is low on life,
use Godzilla's Regeneration (A + B Buttons) Rage Attack
to heal him.
- King Ghidorah: Use Ghidorah's Wing Sheer Blast
Jump (L Button, then A Button) to attack one of Mecha-King
Ghidorah's heads. The fact that Wing Sheer Blast Jump
is a aerial projectile makes this move the most effective
in the game at hitting Mecha-King Ghidorah's head. Once
Mecha-King Ghidorah's chest is blinking, follow up with
two Swooping Talon Scratches (L Button, then A Button),
immediately following the second one, move to the bottom
portion of the level to avoid Mecha-King Ghidorah's bite.
The Swooping Talon Scratches can hit Mecha-King Ghidorah
up to three times each, if done correctly, but take longer
to perform than most other moves, which is why King Ghidorah
can't retreat diagonally like other kaiju. After Mecha-King
Ghidorah has finished attempting to bite King Ghidorah,
Wing Sheer Blast Jump his central head again and repeat
the above strategy until he is beaten. Because King Ghidorah's
Swooping Talon Scratches is so effective, players should
ignore his Rage Attacks.
- Rodan: Use Rodan's Finger Dive (L Button, then
A Button) to attack one of Mecha-King Ghidorah's heads.
Once his chest is blinking, follow up with two Finger
Dives aimed at Mecha-King Ghidorah's chest, before retreating
in time to avoid the bite. After Mecha-King Ghidorah has
finished attempting to bite Rodan, Finger Dive his central
head again and repeat the above strategy until he is destroyed.
Rodan's Rage Attacks aren't useful here compared to the
Finger Dive, which hits the chest twice, and should be
ignored.
- Mechagodzilla: Use Mechagodzilla's Diagonal Jet
Kick (L Button, then B Button) to attack one of Mecha-King
Ghidorah's heads. Once his chest is blinking, follow up
with two Rotary Tail Swipes (L Button, then A Button)
against Mecha-King Ghidorah, before retreating in time
far enough away to escape Mecha-King Ghidorah bite. After
Mecha-King Ghidorah has finished attempting to bite Mechagodzilla,
Diagonal Jet Kick one of his heads again and repeat the
above strategy until he is defeated. If Mechagodzilla
has a full Rage Meter, you can attack Mecha-King Ghidorah,
while his chest is blinking, with Mechagodzilla's Steam
Cooldown, which will strike four times (the same number
as two Rotary Tail Swipes) and heal Mechagodzilla.
- Mothra: Use Mothra's Headbutt (A Button), while
jumping in the air, to hit one of Mecha-King Ghidorah's
heads. Because Mothra's headbutt is a lunging move, it
should be executed while Mothra is in the middle of the
stage (horizontally). Once Mecha-King Ghidorah's chest
is blinking, follow up with two more aerial Headbutts
aimed at Mecha-King Ghidorah, before retreating in time
to avoid the bite. Immediately after Mecha-King Ghidorah
attempts to bite Mothra, strike him with another aerial
Headbutt and then repeat the above strategy. If Mothra
has a full Rage Meter, then, while Mecha-King Ghidorah's
chest is blinking, release Wing Lightning (L Button, then
A + B Buttons) as close to his chest as possible. If done
correctly it should hit him at least eight times.
- Megalon: Use Megalon's Horizontal Drill Punch
(L Button, then A Button) to hit one of Mecha-King Ghidorah's
heads. Because Megalon's Horizontal Drill Punch is a lunging
move, it should be executed while Megalon is in the middle
of the stage (horizontally). Follow up the attack, while
Mecha-King Ghidorah's chest is blinking, with two Diagonal
Drill Punches (L Button, then B Button) before retreating
out of the range of Mecha-King Ghidorah's bite. After
Mecha-King Ghidorah attempts to bite Megalon, strike him
with another Horizontal Drill Punch and then repeat the
above strategy. Unfortunately, none of Megalon's Rage
Attacks are useful here, and should be ignored.
