Publisher: Newgin
Release: 2006
Note: The game is referred to as simply "Godzilla"
or "CR Godzilla" in most instances; however, its full
order title is "CR Godzilla 3S-T Battle"
| Basics |
| The title, like most
modern pachinko machines, is a hybrid and features both
the traditional metal ball dynamics and a slot machine
in the center, which is triggered depending on how the
balls fall inside. In terms of its slot machine feature,
the game is more lenient than most by allowing diagonal
combinations along with matching threes found on the upper
and lower levels, instead of just the center. The title
also contains a "Reach" feature, where characters
in the game will sometime intervene and change the outcome
of the slots. |
| Slot Icons |
There
are a total of nine main slot icons found in the game.
The player tries to match up three of a kind, or in
the case of the King Ghidorah one avoid this from happening.
The exception to this rule is the three Godzilla icons,
which the player tries to line up to spell the title
character's name, an event that causes the mouth attached
to the screen to move and roar.
It should be noted that other icons will
appear in the slots during the start of each stage,
such as a Gigan or Destoroyah icon. These, however,
will dissipate from the selection after rotation begins.

| Reach |
Occasionally, characters
from the game will either help or hinder the player
via the slot. Typically they will help achieve an outcome
if it's close, for example if the player has two red
sevens next to each other and needs a third. The reach
"event" can then potentially stick around
until the desired icon of the objective is achieved.

Godzilla Reach
Objective: Godzilla Icon
The Godzilla reach is unique in the fact that
a variety of methods are used to try and reach
an outcome. Some examples of this include stomping
on the entire slot portion of the screen to rotate
them, reaching in with his hand to replace a slot,
or using his atomic ray to try and align a row
of slots that were very close to a matching pair. |
 |
King Ghidorah Reach
Objective: King Ghidorah Icon
The reach most players will hope to avoid features
the three-headed dragon emerge to use his gravity
bolts to try and align three King Ghidorah icons.
If successful, the monster will literally grasp
the slots with his mouths and rip the entire rotating
column out. |
 |
Shobijin Reach
Objective: Mothra Icon
For this event, the Shobijin appear and begin
to sing Mothra's song to impact the slot rotation.
If the player is lucky enough, the Shobijin's
prayers will eventually roll three Mothras, summoning
the deity to aid Godzilla. |
