| Tournament
mode sees a total of 56 teams, the player's chosen team
included, battling it out to see who can claim the trophy
at the end. Unlike exhibition mode, the Tournament allows
for players to diversify their rosters by recruiting
a player from teams they defeat. Adding more players
to the roster doesn't expand the player limit though,
as only 8 players can be on the field at a time, but
it does allow for an additional 4, for a total of 12,
to be placed on reserve that can be swabbed out during
timeouts or at half time. Once the 12 spots are filled,
unwanted teammates can be traded for new ones after
defeating teams.
Besides being able to mix up the rosters, Tournament
mode also allows for teammates to be leveled up, growing
more powerful as experience is gained on the field.
The speed at which levels are gained differ according
to the character, but the amount experience garnished
stays consistent based on what season the player is
in. Below is a break down of all 8 seasons found in
the game:
Season 1 of Tournament mode is played on the Normal
Field, with each completed match being worth 50 experience
points, that goes to all teammates, and another 25 being
distributed as the player chooses.
Season 2 is played on the Sand Field, with each completed
match being worth 135 experience points, with 75 to
be distributed by the player.
Season 3 is played on the Metal Field, with each completed
match being worth 200 experience points, and anotherh
100 to be distributed by the player.
Season 4 is played on the Dark Field, and each defeated
team is worth 300 experience points, with 150 to be
distributed by the player.
Season 5 is played on the Normal Field, and each defeated
team is worth 500 experience points, with 250 to be
distributed by the player.
Season 6 is played on the Sand Field, and each defeated
team is worth 700 experience points, with 350 to be
distributed by the player.
Season 7 is played on the Metal Field, and each defeated
team is worth 1000 experience points, with 500 to be
distributed by the player.
The last season is played on the Dark Field against
one team that is worth 5000 experience points, with
2500 to be distributed by the player (losing here will
send the player back to the start of the seventh season).
A marginal amount of experience points (1/4th what
the winning amount would have been) are still gained
for losing a match. The first two seasons are comprised
of 7 different teams, while the third-seventh seasons
are comprised of 8 different teams. |
