This short was shown at the SanRio Puroland amusement park in Tokyo as its own separate attraction. Debuting early in 1994, Monster Planet of Godzilla had several extra features to "enhance" the viewing experience, including the use of 3D glasses and odors that were secreted from the theater seats.

The "ride" starts out with an introduction segment hosted by Megumi Odaka and Hello Kitty, SanRio Puroland's mascot and seen here in costume form. The audience is then introduced to the United Nations' new aircraft dubbed "Earth", akin to Garuda in appearance, as it's prepared to fight Godzilla head on. The rest of the ride is comprised of fights with the various monsters (which include Godzilla, Mothra and Fire Rodan) as the title monster destroys various landmarks, including the Tokyo Station building. Some familiar SDF vehicles make appearances as well, such as the MBT-92 and MBAW-93. Music used for the short is culled from previous Godzilla scores done by Akira Ifukube, for example the use of Mechagodzilla's theme from Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993) for the new United Nations aircraft.

It should be noted that even though the same suits and props from the Heisei Godzilla series are utilized here, this short has no relation to its theatrical counterparts. This fact is further supported as the Godzilla featured here is roughly half the size of the 1990's one.
