In a sand-filled desert
near Egypt, a man in a jeep appears to be on some sort
of archeological mission. Before long he discovers
the hidden pyramid of Ramal, an architectural oddity
that includes a large shiny circle on the side that
has the ability to shimmer and animate the nearby giant
club-tailed lion statues. The stone monstrosities attack
the man, blowing him away with their hurricane-level
breath.
Our heroes, meanwhile, are cruising down the Nile
in the Calico. The kids and Godzooky are planning to
go for a swim in the ocean, and do so, although Godzooky
makes a mess of it by splashing all the water away
for a brief cartoony moment.
After Godzooky adds his unique level of levity to
the story, the archeologist from before makes an appearance,
but now his skin is bluish purple like a blueberry.
Somehow he has a severe case of frostbite in the middle
of Egypt! The archeologist is revealed to be one Mr.
Jarvis, and he tells our heroes where the pyramid of
Ramal is. The crew of the Calico determines to investigate
and fly to the location via helicopter. A sandstorm
disrupts their travel, and then suddenly the vehicle
is engulfed in a freak snowstorm, which begins to freeze
up the rotors on the chopper. Captain Majors calls
Godzilla to help them, and luckily the king of all
monsters was killing time somehow underneath the waves
of the Nile. The rotors on the helicopter completely
freeze over, and our heroes plummet from the sky—but
Godzilla proves faster than a speeding airship and
arrives just in time to catch the falling copter in
his capable claws. Godzooky, meanwhile, explores nearby
and stumbles upon one of the stone lion statues from
before and is promptly menaced by them both. Godzilla
comes to save Godzooky and sprays fire in no particular
direction. Godzooky reveals that he has the power to
spray smoke or something from his mouth.
Cantankerous Godzilla spouts fire again, and one of
the stone lions freezes his hand in ice before they
both hide themselves beneath the sand. The ice on Godzilla's
hand then just up and disappears. Godzooky sprays smoke
rings as well, in an attempt to aid in the battle.
Somehow in all the confusion, Godzilla missed where
the stone monsters hid, but Godzooky knows just where
they are. The humans, meanwhile, amazingly remain completely
oblivious to the fact that a terrible battle of the
behemoths was just going on not far away, and, overcome
with archeological curiosity, go to investigate the
far more interesting pyramid.
Our heroes start digging out the fascinating pyramid
(which was buried again beneath the sand), and soon
they reveal the gold circle, which shines and calls
the stone creatures back out of the ground! This time,
however, for some reason the stone monsters don't move.
Godzooky goes for a drink at an oasis, and Pete the
little kid goes along with to fill all the Calico team's
canteens, but ends up dropping one of them in the oasis
due to Godzooky's antics. As the freckled tot wades
into the water, suddenly an insta-whirlpool opens up
nearby and sucks him and then Godzooky down underwater.
Once again, no one else notices.
Back at the pyramid, the gold circle inexplicably
starts glowing again, and for some reason the stone
creatures come alive this time.
Pete and Godzooky find themselves transported inside
the pyramid. Little Pete wants to split up because
he thinks they have a better chance of escaping that
way, but Godzooky wants to stay together, so Pete decides
the big dumb dinosaur is right. Inside the pyramid,
the sarcophaguses are apparently alive and one of them
clamps onto Godzooky's tail and briefly attacks him,
and then the pair of bumbling heroes finds a door.
Outside, another sandstorm starts up, once again caused
by those meddling stone guardians. Captain Majors and
the others, now that there is sand blowing everywhere
and they might actually have a reason not to notice,
finally see that the statues are alive. The stone lions
puff up a blizzard, and Captain Majors calls Godzilla
again, who had long since taken a powder.
Godzooky, meanwhile, is having a hard time opening
the door that the two of them found. The adults outside
hear Pete calling from inside the pyramid. Eventually
Godzooky gets the door open, with the help of the Captain
Majors and the others pushing on the outside. Thus
they escape from the blizzard.
Godzilla makes his grand reappearance, and Godzooky
runs out to help him. Godzilla roars at Godzooky. The
stone creatures try to freeze Godzilla with their breath,
and the Big G objects, picking one of them up and squeezing
it until it bashes him with its tail. The other statue
charges to the rescue, but Godzilla flames it in the
face, and Godzooky distracts it with his smoke rings.
The stone monsters both start shooting giant hailstones
out of their mouths, knocking the King of the Monsters
about. After a while Godzilla gets ticked off and flames
the hailstones as they are forming so that they can't
keep hitting him. Nevertheless, the monsters manage
to freeze Godzilla in a sheath of ice. Then the two
beasts of living stone charge the Godzilla-sicle in
an attempt to smash him to bite-sized Godzilla bits.
At the last moment, just as the twin statue fiends
are about to collide with him, Godzilla breaks out
of the ice and dodges out of the way. The stone creatures,
unable to stop in time, crash into each other and shatter
apart into a bazillion little rocks.
Godzooky then comes along to provide a bit of the
required end-of-episode comic relief and knocks down
a pile of stones, startling himself. |
