Shusuke Kaneko's composer of choice, Kow Otani started his career as a composer in the late 1980's. Otani primarly composed for animated films up until the 1990's when he made his jump toward live action productions. Although active primarly in film, he has also done several video game soundtracks, such as Shadow of the Colossus. Otani is also noteworthy for being the only composer in history to have worked on both the long running Gamera series and the even longer running Godzilla series.
