In commemoration of Godzilla's
50th anniversary, another Godzilla event, the fourth of the year
in the US, will take place from November 17th through the 23rd
in San Francisco, California. The event will take place at the
Castro
Theatre, at 429 Castro street.
Update (8/24/2004): The
Godzillafest
website has updated with a complete list of the 20 Toho films
which will play during the event, although exact times are still

Update (9/23/2004): The
Godzillafest
website has updated once more with the inclusion of actor Russ
Tamblyn to the growing list of guest stars. For those unfamiliar
with Tamblyn, he will be best known to Toho enthusiasts for his
starring role in the influential film The
War of the Gargantuas (1966).
Update (10/12/2004): Even
more guests have been added to the growing roster of guests, including:
Hiroshi Koizumi (best known for his role as Doctor Shin'ichi Chujo
in Mothra
and Godzilla:
Tokyo S.O.S., among many other films), Akira Kubo (star
of Gorath,
Matango,
Invasion
of Astro-Monster, Son
of Godzilla, Destroy
All Monsters, Space
Amoeba and countless other Toho films) and suit actor
Tsutomu Kitagawa (who played Ghidorah in Rebirth
of Mothra 3, and Godzilla for all six of the Millennium
Godzilla films).
Also, an exclusive, fully licensed,
limited-edition green vinyl figure of Godzilla from the original
1954 Godzilla
will be sold at the event, courtesy of Marusan, Toho Co. ltd.
and Super 7. There will only be a 100 of these figures produced
in total.
