Shiraki, a new psychology teacher at the Seimei School for girls, is announced to succeed as head of the school. He is given the news at the principal's house, who is mourning the death of his wife. The principal invites the psychology teacher to spend the night, but warns that he is keeping his wife's body in the cellar as part of a local custom. That night, a restless Shiraki roams the halls and runs into a pale young girl in a blue nightgown. He is then attacked by a woman with sickly green skin and knocked unconscious. The professor wakes up in bed, assuming the attack to be a nightmare. On a hunch, he goes to the cellar and finds the coffin of the principal's wife. Inside is the woman who attacked him, although dead. Shortly afterwards, reports of a missing girl, last seen wearing a blue nightgown, come in from the teacher's students. One of the students, searching for the missing girl, is assaulted and left with two fang marks on her breast. This prompts the professor to research, learning of local vampire legends...

Background and Trivia

  • Toho submitted the film to the US copyright office on December 8th, 1986 with the registration number of PA0000317012. The movie was submitted under its international title, Evil of Dracula, and its Romaji title of Chiosu Bara.
  • The movie is the third entry in the "Bloodthirsy trilogy", a series of unconnected vampire films by director Michio Yamamoto. Other entries include Vampire Doll (1970) and Lake of Dracula (1971). The name for the series is derived from the Japanese titles for the movies, which always started with "Bloodthirsty" (血を吸う - Chiosu). This name has been used on a variety of media related to the titles, such as the "Bloodthirsty Box" which is the DVD box set Toho released of the three movies.
