Description

After the Garoga Spider died, a Terror-Beast capsule erupted and the monstrous Spider Uros joined the battle. Hikaru kept the arachnid at bay while his kin dealt with the mutated gorilla and Garoga soldiers. Once the invaders were sent into retreat and the ape killed, the hero transformed into Zone Fighter. However, this Terror-Beast was a force to be reckoned with. With its multiple limbs and deadly web snare, it quickly seemed to have the champion defeated and cocoon alive. In the air, Zone Junior and Zone Angel fired at the creature and sent it down. This bought them enough time to rescue the warrior and free him of its webs. Standing tall, Zone Fighter was also recharged with energy from his family. Now knowing not to give this Terror-Beast the opportunity to deploy its web snare, he charged in and unleashed his full, physical strength. Unable to keep up with the flurry of punches and kicks, Spider Uros was overpowered and soon destroyed by Zone Fighter’s Meteor Missile Might.

Spider Uros was miraculously resurrected by the Garogas sometime later and added to their Terror-Beast army. Once Kabutogira was slain, the monsters Spider Uros, Garoborg and Jikiro were unleashed. The trio prevented Hikaru from transforming again, but the super hero was aided by Smokey and then Godzilla. The monster king battled Garoborg and Spider Uros, holding his own against both Terror-Beasts while Smokey dealt with Jikiro and Hikaru was freed from underneath a boulder. After he managed to transform, all hopes for the Garogas’ conquest of Earth were once again obliterated. Spider Uros was horribly outmatched against Godzilla one-on-one and was quickly put back to death, this time once and for all.

Powers / Weapons
Web snare

Web snare

From its mouth, Spider Uros can launch a thick stream of sticky webs. It uses these webs to cocoon its victims alive, trapping them in nigh inescapable silk. It was able to cocoon Zone Fighter so fast that the hero was unable to escape or move after just a few seconds of exposure to the webs.

Flight

Flight

Spider Uros is capable of flight, though it opts not to use this ability to travel long distances but for offensive purposes. It flew around Zone Fighter, attacking the hero with its claws in an attempt to confuse and harm him from every angle.

Parachutes

Parachutes

After bursting from its Terror-Beast Missile, Spider Uros was able to gently drift to the ground thanks to three large parachutes attached to its back. Upon landing, this parachutes detached and quickly soared from sight.

Triple energy beam

Triple Energy beam

When Spider Uros was resurrected, it was given the ability to fire three crimson energy beams. It is believed this attack was fired from its mouth, being used only to prevent Hikaru from transforming into Zone Fighter. While able to knock him off his feet, it was unable to do any serious harm to the “meteor man.”

Background and Trivia
  • In the book Toho Special Effects: All Kaiju Illustrated Encyclopedia, its place of birth is said to be on the planet Garoga Baron (Japanese: ガロガバラン星), the homeworld of the Garoga aliens. Its subtitle is also listed as being "Spider Type Terror-Beast" (Japanese: 蜘蛛型恐獣), which is also sometimes written in a shorter form (Japanese: 蜘型恐獣).

In the show, it is merely referred to as "Terror-Beast" (Japanese: 恐獣) during both its first and second appearances.
  • Appears in a very brief flashback sequence at the beginning of Episode 12 in the form of an exploding model. Strangely, the model used differs in several ways from the suit, such as having fewer limbs and its body having a totally different color scheme.
  • Despite being a giant arachnid-like monster, it shares no known connections to the Garoga Spider.
  • There is no mention whether the Spider Uros that appears in Episode 25 is a revived version of the one Zone Fighter previously fought, or if it is some kind of clone.
