So we've discussed, and still are discussing, what monsters should be in the movie? What about the other non-kaiju stuff? The (in)famous masers? Super Xs? New weapons? Gotengo? Or should it all be all basic military (tanks, jets, choppers, etc)?

Frankly, I think masers should deffinetly be in it, maybe even a Super X.

I'd love to see masers make it in. It would be nice for Legendary to notice that the Godzilla series has more to it than Godzilla and his fellow kaiju. Seeing the classic masers brought back was one of the few things I really liked about the Kiryu Saga.

I like the Maser tank being barely capable of holding back Godzilla in the Kiryu timeline. I'd like to see maybe a prototype of it brought into play here.

For the first movie, prolly just the Masers for now. I think they could get away with the SuperX if they wanted to, but if there's another monster, I'd prefer they didn't use it. And if there's not another monster, I'd still prefer they didn't bring in the SuperX because it'd be the same as G85, I'd have to expect Biollante in the next movie.

Buh, real military vehicles/weapons only, please. At least for this first movie, and assuming this movie takes place in a world where this is the first-ever kaiju appearance. In the unlikely event of a sequel to such a movie, THEN they can introduce masers and other wacky shit (under the premise of "we've developed a new weapon in response to Godzilla's previous attack") but for now, I just want real stuff.

However, if this movie takes place in a universe where kaiju attacks have been happening for x number of years (which would surprise me, though not necessarily in a bad way), then I guess superweapons would be A-OK. Hopefully just maser tanks and other simpler things. I REALLY don't want Super X or even Atragon right out the gate. Ok, maybe Atragon.

Hahaha, fair enough. Hopefully Monsterpocalypse resembles Mars Attacks! more than... anything Burton has done in the last 5 years.

A healthy combo of both masers and normal, real weapons would be cool, shows how hard it is to kill Godzilla while still having weapons the general public at least has a clue about how powerful they are.

I'd like to see current military technology in combination with some elaborate tactical battle plan, as opposed to just waves of equipment lined up in neat rows to get blown up. (Another reason why Godzilla vs. The Thing is awesome). Some super-tech would be nice to of course.

Well hopefully it's at least a LITTLE bit like a Toho film, but I get what you mean. LP is not Toho, this movie is being made in a totally different environment and time period, with completely different resources and expectations and being made to be enjoyed by a mass audience, not hardcore Godzilla fans that frequent message boards. This isn't going to operate like a Toho movie, but hopefully it'll get the spirit and tone of the character right.
