And because no one else brought it up, Mazinkaiser SKL (pronounced Skull) coming this December!

The title mech being like Black Getter? The end is near! Of course the Nadesico movie's main mech (Black Selena) was basically a real robot version of Black Getter, so I should be saying "A titular super robot being like Black Getter? The end is near!"

sorry AH, I thought you had them all. I'll see if I can find the later ones, although I will be disconnectedfor a few days (going camping). Also cant wait to catch that preview when I get home (work wont let me into youtube :x )

Still hoping someday for a ShinGetter/Mazinkaiser crossover

Reading Manga is no different then watching anime, and they are pretty much Japanese comics. No different then reading a American Comic from Marvel, DC, and Image.

I prefer Anime to Manga mostly because there are few (if any) Super Robot/Real Robot based Manga's. Manga mostly focuses on Human drama & elements. I have to say that any battle against mechs or monsters is much more interesting when animated than on the pages of manga. I know there are several Gundam manga's, but they mostly focus on the pilots without their Gundams which just seems wrong to me. I know they are Japanese comics, but while I enjoy US comic-book heroes both reading & watching on TV, I admit, I could really care less about most human characters in Anime or Manga (with few exceptions). Sure one could argue that the robots would be lifeless without the spirit of the pilot that operates them, which is true to an extent, but really I have no interest in the human drama that most Manga features. With that being said however I have one exception. The Guyver, and of course there is no official english translation beyond volume 7 of that series (the first 7 volumes were released by Viz several years ago) . But of course we know where we can find fan translations, and I do enjoy those.

However I know Manga is immensely popular and i enjoy reading about peoples interests in both Anime & Manga.

There was a company named Chuang Li or something like that that released volumes 1-10. I never got any of them but I heard they are better than Viz's translations, which isn't saying much. But I think company got closed down or something. You could probably find copies of those on the internet.

I don't think the rest of the Guyver manga after Vol.7 will be released in the US. You are better off just reading it off the web, the same issue happens with Bastard!! where most of the Manga in the US is out of print. And that Viz might not release the rest of the series in the US.

Watched episodes 6 and 26. I was disappointed in the Mugen Punch. An extendo punch to the moon? That was lame. I thought Aquarion was gonna punch the enemy hard enough that the force from the punch would've sent them flying straight to the moon. Although the last ep got rid of alot of the characters that I disliked, some survived. It bummed me out, but I could deal with it. I'll stick to my deal and finish the series although I don't like it. So how far are you on Heroic Age? Have you seen Artemia yet?

You skipped eps 7-25? :eh:

Edit: I haven't gone any further yet, I've been a little busy what with trying to get back to KC, doctor appointments, weed whacking, and stat moving and all. I'll start on ep 5 right now.

Yeah, I didn't really miss much except that I think Sirius betrays the good guys and joins with bad guys for a while before becoming a good guy again. Hell, I knew most of the plot just from watching the first few eps. It wouldn't have been hard to figure out the rest.

Thanks Draglord for the recommendadtion I found Guyver volumes 8-10 in English on eBay:

Although to be honest I started reading on-line at volume 11 (I am up to 15 right now I think) since that is where the animated series left off. Cant wait to be all cought up!. Man I cant beleieve that series has been around for 25 years! I would think they would do something big for the 25th anniversary, maybe another Anime season to get them closer to where the Manga is ;) .

They kinda did in for one of the manga chapters. We saw the return of an old foe.

I think we might get a new anime season once the Manga is done. I have a feeling it might come to a end soon maybe.

No and I'm not interested, I'm already trying to do other things that aren't manga related.

WTH is this post?

Yknow before you write something off as "not interested", pick up a manga of something you ARE interested in - like anything with giant robots - AND TRY it before you write it off. Grow up a little ...jeez.

What's everyones favorite guilt pleasure anime? That one (or whole series) of anime you dont want to admit (BUT YOU WILL!) you like/watch/obsess over?

Personally, Sailor Moon R is my guilty pleasure anime movie. It was the first non-Dragon Ball-Z-GT movie I saw subbed. Sadly, Ive yet to replace it on VHS and the VHS tape is gone.

Koko wa Greenwood is my guilt pleasure anime series. The manga is very hard to keep up with. Its for girls, whatchu expect? But the anime is extremely cute. I wanted more after the last OVA..
